Introductory[edit]

I'm starting this as a rewrite of sorts. The article was promoted to GA status in 2008, and the standards were much lower back then. The article has deteriorated in terms of prose quality, sourcing, organization, etc. I aim to improve that as I did with the Breaking Benjamin article. User:Jacedc/sandbox8 contains a source collection which I'll utilize throughout the project.

History[edit]

Formation, The Blue Album, and Point #1 (1995–2001)[edit]

Chevelle was founded by guitarist and vocalist Pete Loeffler, drummer Sam Loeffler, and bassist and backing vocalist Joe Loeffler.[2] The group's formative years began in 1995 when the group started playing at local parties and other outdoor events, which eventually led to gigs at clubs around Chicago, Illinois.[2] The Loefflers grew up around hot rods and regularly went to car shows.[3] Pete said in regard to the band's name that, "Honestly, it doesn't go any further than being 15 years old, starting a rock band, and just needing a name, we threw it on there, we stole it from the car [Chevrolet Chevelle]".[4]
