Miscellaneous

Hi! I wanted to add a personal message in addition to the templated one (above). I saw your recent addition to the Comodo Group page which lead me here. I noticed that in the original version of your user page (here), you wrote that you work for Comodo. That is perfectly fine, however, this means that you have several things you should read before you commence with any more edits to anything related to Comodo.

  • WP:COI (Conflict of Interest). Because you work there you have a conflict of interest. That page describes what that means and how to to handle that.
  • WP:FAQ/Organization. That page has many FAQ about how to edit without displaying a conflict of interest.
  • WP:NPOV (Neutral point of view). Everyone needs to keep a neutral point of view on Wikipedia, but especially when there is a conflict of interest involves (or just personal views on things).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me here or on my talk page. Have a night day! Killiondude (talk) 08:10, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm...I don't work for Comodo. I guess I said it wrong, because that Malware Research Group is really just a private forum where a few members share malware samples. Since I never noticed your message until about a year later, I bet you won't see this. but I didn't "want to let lose ends hanging." --LaserWraith (talk) 19:50, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non Free Images in you User Space[edit]

Hey there Jeremysbost, thank you for your contributions! I am a bot alerting you that Non-free images are not allowed in the user or talk-space. I removed some images that I found on User:Jeremysbost/Comodo Time Machine. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use images to your user-space drafts or your talk page. See a log of images removed today here, shutoff the bot here and report errors here. Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 00:37, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Comodo Time Machine - Creating Snapshot.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Comodo Time Machine - Creating Snapshot.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 23:09, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for noticing. A question, though: I thought I filled out the "non-free use rationale". What parts "didn't work"?
Anyway, I have decided I don't need the image. It doesn't really provide any needed information. What should I do to get rid of it? --LaserWraith (talk) 14:25, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Comodo Internet Security. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Comodo Internet Security. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adding fair-use rationale when one already exists[edit]

Hi, Jeremysbost

Before adding a fair-use rationale to an image please be careful to note if there is one already there! Maybe all you needed to do was to improve it, rather than adding a new one!

Fleet Command (talk) 11:08, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't see that one was there until now, and the note said there wasn't one. BTW, are all those "complicated" phrases necessary for the rationale? LaserWraith (talk) 19:30, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
