Climate change denial is....what?[edit]

First, a small digression.
Holocaust denial is described by Wikipedia as "Holocaust denial is the claim that the genocide of Jews during World War II—usually referred to as the Holocaust—did not occur in the manner or to the extent described by current scholarship".
Great. Accurate. To the point.

But how does Wikipedia describe Climate change denial?

Well. It doesn't simply and accurately say anything like Climate change denial is the repudiation of the theory that the earth's temperatures have been gradually increasing since the mid-20th century, (or somesuch).

What is says is contained in one of the worst first sentences of any article in Wikipedia, namely

"Climate change denial describes efforts to counter all or part of the theory of global climate change when those involved are believed to be acting out of vested interests rather than an unbiased evaluation of the scientific data."

What!!!? How about we actually describe what climate change denial is before we introduce the politics?

There's much more to follow in the dreadful lead, but you'll get the idea from that.

That sentence does NOT define what Climate change denial actually is. For some reason, possibly POV, it rabbits on about "efforts" to do something and those involved have vested interests.

How about we do not insultingly infer that ordinary people with genuine climate change doubts are part of any efforts to counter the theory and/or were influenced by propaganda.

Why don't we say what climate change denial actually is, something like -- the repudiation of the theory that the earth's temperatures have been gradually increasing since the mid-20th century. Add and is accelerating on the end if you like. (October 2008)

Earlier tete a tete, not related[edit]

For ease of access, I record below the history of events following a post by User:Michael93555. The original section header of "wiki-stalker User:Kaiwhakahaere" used by Michael93555 is retained, but this was later amended to "wiki-hounder" by User Durova. A resolved tag appears here too. It was inserted by Michael93555 who left the edit summary "closing discussion". His discussion, maybe. But whoa back a bit. I have not decided whether to just let it slide or take action regarding this user labelling me a wiki-stalker, a very serious accusation which he could not justify, and for calling me "a little, dirty troll". So I have removed the resolved tag. Future events might convince me to replace it. Kaiwhakahaere (talk) 00:04, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

User:Kaiwhakahaere Comment on User talk:EdGl Talk page> "Keep them coming Michael. This is another one for me to store away until the day your ego convinces you that a bunch of Huggle rvs makes you RfA material. Incidentally, do think you should attend a remedial course to brush up on your English usage? "I been on here for 3 months" and "You been on here since...." grate just a little". I think we have a wiki-stalker on our hands. User:Kaiwhakahaere came to my talk page and ask me THIS and I reply THIS Then this user told me THIS I reply back saying THIS then this user been stoking me and posting stuff like THIS on other users pages. I just want this to stop.. He got to be a youngster..Can someone do something about this.--Michael (Talk) 04:40, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Looks like it, I just checked those edits. It seems he's butting into discussions he's not involved in.--Eaglestorm (talk) 04:45, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
I did nothing to this user, I don’t understand why there doing this. I guess there board. The only thing I did, Is revert, this edit,.--Michael (Talk) 05:04, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Not really stalking yet, although not exactly pleasant behaviour. My bet is he'll not comment on your work again. David D. (Talk) 05:08, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh yes he will - when Michael goes RfA. Strangely enough, in a RfA I can go back through his history to get the bits that show why he doesn't cut the mustard. But pointing it out now results in ANI. Goodness gracious. Kaiwhakahaere (talk · contribs) 06:28, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Helpful mentoring never hurt anyone. David D. (Talk) 06:54, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Can you tell the user to leave me alone. Thanks--Michael (Talk) 05:19, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
User:Kaiwhakahaere You think you had something so important to say, that you felt the urge to leave a comment on my talk page. Seen Here There are other ways to get people to listen to you than behaving like a little, dirty troll. You are an individual who enjoys creating conflict on the internet. You create and fuel arguments which upset other members of the online community. hopefully, you will get bored and leave.--Michael (Talk) 09:03, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Let this drop please. At this stage one of you has to be the mature person and step back who ever is in the wrong. David D. (Talk) 12:25, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Agree, Let's just drop this. Please. --Michael (Talk) 18:35, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Kaiwhakahere (talk · contribs) just vandalize my user pages. Seen Here and Seen Here

Refactored the header title. Stalking is a real world crime, and a small number of Wikipedians have actually filed police reports and provided evidence in criminal cases because of their volunteer work at this website. Please do not abuse that very serious term to overstate a minor online annoyance. DurovaCharge! 04:57, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
I think the autoblock may get the other account if they are related. They do indeed look related. I'm not ruling out sockpuppetry. Hmm, If they become an issue, I will file a sockpuppetry case.--Michael (Talk) 07:21, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
I would not jump to conclusions. Could be anyone who sees an opportunity to escalate a fight and waste both your time and that of Kaiwhakahaere. David D. (Talk) 15:09, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Keep them coming Michael. This is another one for me to store away for your fucking fagot ass. You’re the fucking little, dirty troll. Go fuck yourself. Kaiwhakahaere (talk) 19:50, 30 April 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaiwhkahaere (talkcontribs) 19:50, 30 April 2009

I just blocked Kaiwhakahaere indefinitely for that gem of a personal attack. I'm pretty confident that this was warranted, but invite comment here. Tan | 39 19:54, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Please note some odd font difference between Kaiwhakahaere and Kaiwhakahaere. That gem came from a brand new account.Synchronism (talk) 19:57, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Whoa, uh oh. What the hell...? Is this a sockpuppet of the original Kai? Tan | 39 19:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
No it's someone trying to make it look like Kai. I have an idea of who it really is though.Synchronism (talk) 20:02, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
So I just indefblocked a valid editor. Great. Tan | 39 20:06, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
I just unblocked Kai and indefblocked the troll. I'm sure the troll is celebrating somewhere; I need to be more careful. Tan | 39 20:13, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
And after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing it ended up with the following tag being placed on Michael's page by an admin:
This user is a confirmed sock puppet of Michael35ca,and Michael27ca,
established by Michael Price, and has been blocked indefinitely.

Amen.

Removed tag[edit]

I have removed the Resolved tag which was placed on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#wiki-hounder User:Kaiwhakahaere by User:Michael93555 who started the section. He originally entitled the section "wiki-stalker User:Kaiwhakahaere". I left a courtesy note on his talk page saying I had removed his tag and directed him to here where I explain I have not yet made up my mind whether to just walk away or take him to task for labelling me a wiki-stalker, a very serious accusation which he could not justify, and for calling me "a little, dirty troll". He removed my courtesy message from his talk page a couple of minutes after I posted it there. Certainly justified my reason for removing the tag. Kaiwhakahaere (talk) 00:42, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

User:Kaiwhakahaere. Like I stated before, You are an individual who enjoys creating conflict on the internet. You create and fuel arguments which upset other members of the online community. Please leave me alone. Don’t send me messages, Thanks.--Michael (Talk) 08:23, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
