Keith Nunes[edit]

Daily Life[edit]

Keith William Nunes was born on December 28, 1960, in Durban, South Africa. He made his name as a poet in New Zealand. He is constantly being published in the country's top journals including Landfall, Takahe, Bravado, Trout and Blackmail Press. He has been anthologised in Britain and Australia. Nunes has had poems published in several Canadian and American journals.

Working Career[edit]

He started his career as a journalist at 18 with the Napier Daily Telegraph. He finished his 3 year cadetship in 2 years and graduated with honours. He first travelled to Europe with his wife at 21 working in pubs and travelling the continent.

Years of travel and journalism in various countries led him to Tauranga, New Zealand, in 2002 where he continued his newspaper work with the Bay of Plenty Times. He married his third wife (skipped 1 wife) - the artist Talulah Belle - and moved in with her three children (Luis, Lily and Bex) in Oropi between Te Puke and Tauranga.

Poetry[edit]

Nunes began his poetry publishing days with the respected online journal Snorkel which draws from the Australasian region. He went on to being published in well regarded journals such as Landfall and Takahe in 2008 followed by stints in Bravado and Trout in 2011 and the established Poetry NZ in 2012.

His poetry is regarded as expressionistic with a touch of the avant garde and the obtuse.
