Hi,

I'm Lauren Nixon, a PhD Researcher at The University of Sheffield. I'm research masculinity, nationality and the military in the Gothic novels of the long eighteenth century at the Centre for the History of the Gothic. I'm interested in the way the Gothic has explored and influenced notions; I'm the co-organiser of Sheffield Gothic (Twitter: @SheffieldGothic) and the Reimagining the Gothic projects (Twitter: @TheReimagining) and I've published on the works of Jane Austen. In addition to my work in the Gothic I'm interested in many things geek such as comics, video and tabletop gaming and Kpop (all of which I've managed to shoe horn into my academic work over the years!).
