Luke Crocker is an independent researcher with a background in various martial arts before settling on the nine traditions of Masaaki Hatsumi.

He currently runs the Classical Martial Arts Research Academy (CMARA)[1], and online presence dedicated to the translation and research of Japanese sources on the martial arts, and is a representative of the Institute of Martial Arts and Sciences (IMAS)[2], dedicated to promoting professionalism and quality in the martial arts worldwide.
