Matthew Stauber[edit]

Matthew Stauber is a junior at Santa Clara University. He is a Communications major with the possibility of minoring in Business Marketing or Business Management. He is originally from Franklin, Massachusetts and moved to San Jose, California at a young age. He attended [Saint Francis High School] in Mountain View, California and was a three sport athlete which includes basketball, swimming, and track. He has three siblings, two brothers and one sister. TouchChat began as merely an app that provided pages of pictures that has words or phrases attached to them. Soon after TouchChat added a voice synthesizer which gives the person the experience of face-to-face verbal communication. The next stage of development allowed people to post their messages onto social media sites, increasing means of communicating in easy ways. Silver Kite which is a resource from Saltillo and PRC created the app known as TouchChat, which incorporates programs from both PRC and Saltillo. TouchChat is a full-featured communication solution for individuals who have difficulty using their natural voices. This app is focused to serve individuals specifically with cognitive, speech and language impairments. People who have Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome or any other conditions that affect an individuals ability to use natural speech. Running TouchChat on smartphones and tablets provides new opportunities. Text generated with TouchChat pages can be shared on social media if there is a wireless connection nearby. With the variety of different apps to chose from TouchChat incorporates easy accessibility while providing individuals with a method of communication.
