Hey y'all, MatthewRMiller2 here!
I started out as a casual editor and frankly, I can't stop. I'm enjoying myself too much.
I'm doing my part to improve articles about politics and government in the state of Michigan. You might catch me in some strange corners of Wikipedia once in a while, but that's just me editing as I read.
Remember folks, no one owns Wikipedia. We're all doing this because we believe in public access to information. Accordingly, keep it cool, keep it light, assume good faith, and be bold!

Current projects[edit]
2018 Michigan Election Data[edit]
I'm currently focusing most of my attention on keeping election data up to date for incoming officials from Michigan elected in 2018, including Gretchen Whitmer, Garlin Gilchrist, Dana Nessel, Jocelyn Benson, and the incoming delegation of U.S. Representatives. This is a tireless task until the Michigan Secretary of State certifies the official results. But the people demand (and deserve) data that is up-to-date.
NLGA Chairs[edit]
I'm working on parsing a list of chairs of the National Lieutenant Governors Association into a table to add to the article. It's a fun exercise in massaging data out of a Word document and into a wiki table.

- Election data for the Michigan gubernatorial election, 2018 and the 2017 Detroit City Clerk election on Garlin Gilchrist.
- Election data for the Michigan Attorney General election, 2018, which I carried over to Dana Nessel and Tom Leonard (Michigan politician).
Future projects[edit]
Vaguely in order of priority, but subject to rearrangement.
Michigan government officials project[edit]
- Add structure and content (including election data where applicable) to all articles for incumbent holders of statewide office in Michigan. These include:
- Governor Gretchen Whitmer
- Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist
- Attorney General Dana Nessel
- Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson
- Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof (and his successor Mike Shirkey
- Michigan House Speaker Tom Leonard (and his successor Lee Chatfield)
- State Treasurer Nick A. Khouri (and his successor)
- For the above offices, remove red links by creating articles and adding a usable amount of content.
- For Governors of Michigan, I think each article should be eventually improved to at least good article status, as the articles of a featured list should be of a sufficient quality. Emphasis on the most recent five governors, but likely starting with Frank Murphy out of personal preference, followed by the greatest of all time. This particular bullet point will end up getting broken out into separate projects.
- For lieutenant governor, start with Frank Murphy (lieutenant governor) because it's a different person, as the real Frank Murphy was serving on SCOTUS.
- For secretary of state, I'd like to see articles about the elections going back to at least the 1960s.
After all this is said and done, I want to work through each incumbent member of the Michigan Senate and the Michigan House of Representatives, adding biographical information and election data. Probably starting with the election pages for each in 2018.
Wisconsin v. Michigan[edit]
This is my longhaul, big league project. I want this thing to get featured article. It has been rated Start-class, mid-importance by WikiProject Michigan.
- Create articles for Michigan Attorneys General involved in the litigation of Wisconsin v. Michigan. (This will mostly focus on the attorneys general in the early 1920s and mid 1930s.) Bonus points for Wisconsin Attorneys General involved in the cases.
