Tutorial Two[edit]

Pick between Activities 1/2 and do Activity 3:

  • Activity 1 - Citation Hunt ×

  • Activity 2 - From Scratch

For the article Eileen Chang,

If I were the one who had created this article first, I would have established the template for the following editors. To be more specifically, the template should include at least five parts: Life, Career, Novels, Films, and Influences.

If I were the second reader, I would have edited the article with some graphs and more details for each of the five parts above.

  1. Life: Early Life, Marriage Life, Later Life
  2. Career: In Shanghai, In Hong Kong, In USA
  3. Novels: Stories & Collections
  4. Films: Films that She Wrote as a Screenwriter & Films that Adapted from Her Novels
  5. Influences: In East Asia & In Western World

Tutorial Three[edit]

Pick two of the four activities:

  • Activity 1 - Quality and Importance Ratings in Wikipedia

The article Fuyuan North railway station is rated as stub-class and low-importance.

In order to be rated as an featured article with top-importance, the article needs to

  1. be well-written, comprehensive, well-researched, neutral, and stable
  2. follow the style guidelines, including the provision of a lead, appropriate structure, and consistent citations
  3. include an image or photograph
  4. build a comprehensive or detailed guide

  • Activity 2 - Citation Needed

The article Karabakh movement needs citations.

"Initially, the movement was entirely devoid of any anti-Soviet sentiment and did not call for independence of Armenia. The Karabakh Committee, a group of intellectuals, led the movement from 1988 to 1989. It transformed into the Pan-Armenian National Movement(HHSh) by 1989 and won majority in the 1990 parliamentary election. In 1991, both Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh declared independence. The intense fighting known as the Nagorno-Karabakh War turned into a full-scale war by 1992.[citation needed]"

Citations needed when describing details of the movement. Miss Hiyori (talk) 26 March 2019 Miss_Hiyori

Tutorial Four[edit]

  • Activity 1 - Analysis of a Featured Article √

From the Featured Articles, I find out an article Ancient Egyptian literature.

The article has a FA rating because

  1. it is well written, comprehensive, well-researched, neutral, and stable
  2. it follows the style guidelines, which has a lead section, an appropriate structure, and consistent citations
  3. it has images and other media
  4. it stays focused on the main topic without going into unnecessary detail

The article is associated with the WikiProject of Literature and it makes a collaborative effort to improve the coverage of literature on Wikipedia.

Tutorial Five[edit]

Do all activities:

  • Activity 1 - Ideas for Your Article √

From the WikiProject of Literature that I am using, I find out an article Allegory in the Middle Ages.

The article has a GA rating because

  1. it is well written
  2. it is verifiable with no original research
  3. it is broad in its coverage

The things that I can try and replicate in my article include

  1. the format established to introduce the history background and different types of literature
  2. the reference listed to support neutral, stable, and illustrated information
  3. the resources used to cover main aspects of the article

Since the article is also about a particular literature style during a particular time period as my article, I can definitely learn from it.

  • Activity 2 - Reference List Exercise √
