edit summaries[edit]

hi Mkaksone,

i noticed that you don't put "edit summaries" in your edits, and i just wanted to make sure that it is because you prefer not to, and not because no one has explained what they are/how to put them in?

(here's a "just in case" description, the same one that someone put on my talkpage when i started: When you're editing a page, under the edit window is "Content must not violate any copyright. Encyclopedic content..."

Under that statement should be "Edit summary:" and then a box. Anything an editor types in this box will appear as a comment next to the time/user name in the history.

Below that box are the 'save page' 'show preview' 'show changes' buttons.)

if a page is on your "watchlist," the edit summary shows up automatically on your watchlist. if the page is not on your watchlist, you have to go into the "history" at the top of the page to see all the recent edits/by whom/edit summaries. (you can see all the edits which have ever been to a page from the time it was started this way, actually.)

sometimes, unfortunately, people communicate important info only via edit summary, and then the talkpage can get confusing, since the edit summaries aren't there. (but if you put a reason/description for you edit in an edit summary that doesn't need to be explained on the talkpage, that's fine--esp. if it's a minor edit like spelling/grammar, etc.)

please accept my apologies if i'm boring you or telling you things you already know--i just didn't want you to be left out of reading/contributing to edit summaries on any page you work on. and feel free to ask at my talkpage if you have any questions about anything/the little quirks of wikipedia. (if i don't know, i can help you find out.)

all best, Cindery 00:33, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

characteristics of bullies[edit]

nice try but it still isnt 100% right

"While some bullies are arrogant and narcissistic[1], others can use bullying as a tool to conceal shame or anxiety or to boost self esteem: by demeaning others, the abuser him/herself feels empowered[2].

as it is narcissists themselves "who use bullying as a tool to conceal shame or anxiety or to boost self esteem by demeaning others"

But not all bullies are narcissistic, some are more sadistic.

I can explain it properly but dont currently have the right citations to support the text.--Penbat (talk) 15:54, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
