Driver Information System (DIS) is a multifunction display installed in VAG cars inside instrument cluster, between speedometer and tachometer. Also known as FIS (from german name Fahrerinformationssystem)[1], MFI (Multi Function Indicator), MFA (Multifunktionsanzeige)[2] or MFD (Multi Function Display).[3] At the beginning installed as optional equipment but currently is a standard equipment that replaced number of indicators in the instrument cluster.

Hardware[edit]

Color or monochrome LCD screen. Monochrome can be low or high. Monochrome can use different backlight colors for warnings.

Control[edit]

DIS display is controlled by buttons placed on the right stalk. Usually there are 3 buttons: up, down and reset. Long press of the reset button is used to clear values (e.g. average fuel consumption), short press for switching between views. Also MFSW can control DIS.
