My interest is creating a top quality Wiki article about Yule Marble (which includes the quarry), found just south of Marble, Colorado.

When I viewed the article for the first time, I was very disappointed in the content and lack of information. I am also a historian at heart and with that, I undertook a complete rewrite.

I have the information resources for the task through my being the museum director in Marble, Colorado and I have close contact with the quarry vice president (who is also the president of the Marble Historical Society). The museum director position is a volunteer one (as are all MHS ones) that I assumed in the summer of 2011 (no money received by me). I am a resident of Houston but I go up to Marble (starting in the summer of 2009) for four months.

The rewrite now complete with less than 1% of the original text remaining. I greatly expanded the scope (numerous sections and subsections) and filled with depth of text and numerous images. I removed the msg of citation being needed after inclusion of extensive reference sources.

The article was written in the neutral for I only delt with the questions of "Who", "What", "When", and "Where". I left out "Why" for this is where opinon and theory comes into the writing. In the rewrite process, my efficiency was not that great for I developed the new article in the Wiki editor instead of using WORD resulting in a lot of page saves.

I did not post the above before now because I did not think it was all that important to tell until a posting in my Talk by Balloonman and COI. (Before I started the rewrite, I did post in my Talk that I was the museum director). Until his posting, it never occurred to me that I was COI. I know he is just pointing out Wiki administrative policy and it bothers me that I am having to defend my rewrite. None of the material I wrote for the articles can be construed as being copied from the museum. I do cite a 28 page historical booklet that I published but I do not receive any money from it for all sales goes to the museum. OneHistoryGuy (talk) 19:49, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

I also removed external links to websites that were made by people in Marble that I know or know of because the website was off subject or so general and short in quarry content that nothing new was added. OneHistoryGuy (talk) 00:00, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

I was involved with one previous Wiki article with a differrent account name. I came to the article as an expert but the experience left me disgusted and angry. Because of that, I did not want to undertake this article with the previous account. I have enjoyed writing this article and it has been a pleasure dealing with the editors I have encountered with this article. It has been a long time since I have written this extensively in a flowing narrative form OneHistoryGuy (talk) 10:09, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
