From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elam McKnight is a blues songwriter and guitar player in the Mississippi delta blues and Hill country blues traditions.

He has recorded four albums. He recorded Braid My Hair (2003) and The Last Country Store (2005) on his own Big Black Hand label. McKnight later released Supa Good (2007) and Zombie Nation (2011) on Los Angeles-based Desert Highway Records.

Elam grew up in Yorkville in West Tennessee. He says he was influenced by visiting Beale Street in Memphis, by hearing the music of Robert Johnson and by finding the CD Ass Pocket of Whiskey by Hill country blues artist R.L. Burnside that had been discarded by someone.
