Regarding the origin of tiffin : "It originated in British India, and is today found primarily in Indian English.[1] The word originated when Indian custom superseded the British practice of an afternoon tea..."

This sounds like tiffin was an Indian custom and very likely preceded the British presence there. If so, shouldn't it be called a custom of India (or what it was called before the British took it).

Also, it's not clear to me what the difference is between tiffin and afternoon tea.
