This account is RETIRED as of (Feb-26-2012) Its only purpose now is to respond to outstanding issues on talk pages, and to act as a placeholder should I need it for later projects requiring my real name (Paul Carrington Foster).
NOTICE: This user account was created for a neuroscience class requiring the use of a real name to edit Wikipedia. I have a user account that I consider my actual user account.
I believe firmly that one of Wikipedia's main successes is that users are judged by the content of their minds, and not their personal situation. As such, I would consider it a major breach of privacy to reveal the connection between the two accounts. I do, however, give explicit permission for those with CheckUser status to publicly verify that both accounts exist and are behaving according to the policy set forth here, without revealing other information (account name, IP, location, etc.).
In that vein I assert the following:
- This account will be used only to edit Neuroscience related articles.
- This account will be retired at the end of class, either spring 2012 or summer 2012, depending on whether I take a follow up class.
- My primary account will never make edits to any page edited by this account while this account is active.
- This page will not make edits to any pages that have been edited by my primary account while this account was active. In other words: there will exist no pages edited by both this account and my primary account between the date of activation of this account (Sept-27-2011) and its retirement.
- Obviously, this account will make no edits in its retirement.
- This account will adhere to the usual rules of editing, especially WP:5P and WP:HERE. I don't claim to know all of the editing policies, so if I mess something up, please revert it and leave a link to the appropriate policy.
