PlayaBender is the pen name derived from two sources:

• Playa, the name of the expanse of land that Burning Man is built upon.
• Bender, the Robot from Futurama.

It became my Playa name at my first Burning Man in 2004, given for my help constructing the camp metallic domes, which involved a lot of bending. PlayaBender is a long-time author and trainer with emphasis on highly-specialized Database platforms.
