Article critique[edit]

I visited the Copic page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: citations, completeness, and age.

Citation[edit]

There is a pittance of only four sources. Each of these sources are biased towards positive attitudes about Copic markers. The most used source is the English Copic marker homepage while another source is the Japanese Copic marker homepage. There could be other sources that show the differences between Copic markers and other markers.

Completeness[edit]

I found that this article is very bland. It only gives the bare minimum of facts. It only states that the Copic markers exists and gives a basic description taken out of the Copic website. For an artist this gives no information. How well does it work? What medias does it work best with? What are the differences between Copic markers and others? There are numerous different people who use these kinds of markers for professional reasons, I believe it would be easy to find this information. It is also concerning that under marker types it states there are 9 different tips but only lists 4 of which are only given minimal detail.

Age[edit]

The last time this page was updated was October 2015. Now to some this may seem decently recent, but for artists this is old. If they made any additions, collections of colors or if they made new products such as a new pen tip, is very important for an artist to know.

Summary[edit]

Overall, I would say this article is decent. It does give the basic information about the company and the markers, however it lacks giving useful background and different views. The fact that the only sources are all biased is also concerning, because it doesn’t allow the reader to know how Copic markers compare to other brands.
