The Username is lifted from Lady Gregory's History of the Men of the Red Branch of Ulster. Rough Red Buinne is one of Fergus' sons, who returned from exile in Scotland with the beautiful Queen Deirdre only to be tricked and trapped by The High King Conchubar. As Deidre had predicted he lost his honour but saved his neck. But the mountain that he received as a reward for laying down his arms, turned barren overnight.

I have some specialist knowledge of architecture, architectural history, environmental design and sustainability in the construction industry. I have a general interest in history, particularly 1800's British political history but also Early Medieval with a love of Anglo Saxon and Norse Mythology and Sagas. Developing interests in local (Co.Down / Co.Armagh) history and archeology.
