This is my first attempt at providing any information on Wikipedia. I have not read any of the guidelines yet, but need to be "bold" and just start somewhere. I am a student in a Master's Program and participating on Wikipedia is one of our assignments. The course concerns the exploration of human development according to Erik Erikson. I have especially been interested in the collaborative work of Erikson with his wife Joan. I am currently reading her book Wisdom and the Senses and am finding I really appreciate her philosophy of the necessity to include exploration of the Arts as a means to enhance sensory development, as this, in turn, enhances overall growth and development throughout the eight stages of Erikson's theory of the life cycle. Another point I find interesting is that Erik Erikson was a trained Montessori teacher and Dr. Montessori's emphasis on the sensorial basis of learning must certainly have impacted Erik's understanding of human development. What would be interesting to discover now is Joan's experience with Montessori philosopy of education.
