Scuba.com is a scuba diving retailer specializing in selling scuba diving, snorkeling, and surfing products. Currently based in Irvine, California.[1]

Scuba.com was originally founded in 1990 as Diver’s Discount Supply in Eagle Rock, California by Scuba Instructors.[1] Diversdiscount.com was launched in March of 1996 beginning the transition from a world of bricks and mortar to a world of clicks.[2] They became the first online retailer authorized to sell scuba equipment.

Company Growth[edit]

In January of 2000, Diver’s Discount Supply transformed into Scuba.com, and consolidated into a single store located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. After outgrowing the Rancho Santa Margarita warehouse in May 2006, the company moved to its current location in Irvine, California.

Products and Services[edit]

Scuba.com currently offers over 30,000 items from over 120 of diving’s most popular manufacturers such as Henderson, Oceanic, XS Scuba, and Sea Life. They offer items for aquatic activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, free diving, technical diving, and related accessories. Scuba.com employs a sales team of scuba diving instructors for any product questions and assembly of equipment.[3] They currently offer over 30,000 items from over 120 of diving’s most popular manufacturers such as Henderson, Oceanic, XS Scuba, and Sea Life. Their repair center is also run by a certified technician/instructor.

Awards and Recognition[edit]

Scuba.com was the first vendor-authorized scuba retailer to sell online. It has received awards such as the Forbes Best of Web[4], and the prestigious Golden Web Award[5] for website excellence. They are members of the Better Business Bureau[3] and have received various achievements and awards from manufacturers like Henderson, PADI, and McNett.[6]
