Hi, I'm Jamie.

About Me[edit]

I'm a 20-something guy from Australia. I've lived and worked in Northern NSW, Perth, Ipswich and Brisbane.

I've got a broad general interest in "I.T.", specifically Linux, free software and networking, as well as retro stuff like crappy old computers and crappy old video games. My favorite game is Doom, I still play it constantly.

I once compiled a whole heap of information from people, newsgroups, email groups, websites and web forums into an FAQ relating to older 1960s/70s/80s models of the Toyota Corolla automobile.

Some other topics I find interesting are photography, heavy metal music, cooking, mental illness, reading, body modification, and pinup art.

MediaWiki[edit]

You can see my list of contributions to Wikpedia are mostly minor grammatical fixes, though sometimes I'll add a paragraph, or rewrite a whole short article if it needs it.

I generally dislike the politics and leadership of Wikipedia, which prevents me from seeking a more active role. If I expand on this topic much more, I'll probably get banned, if I don't already for simply writing this.

Outside of Wikipedia, I've compiled a couple of topic-specific Wikis, used internally at places of employment, and have been a major contributor to the MediaWiki-powered Rollaclub FAQ. I also contribute to Encyclopedia Dramatica for the lulz.
