I have been reading about vampires since the early 1970s; I actively pursued vampire-related topics from the early 1980s to about 2002. From 1989 to 2002 I wrote a book review column for the small-press publication The Vampire's Crypt; in this time span I reviewed over 500 vampire-related books, including novels, fiction anthologies, and various types of nonfiction. I also wrote a vampire comics review column for the short-lived small-press publication Journal of the Dark.

Currently I am most interested in Vampire Hunter D and related topics. I maintain the Vampire Hunter D Archives website.

I have a B.A. and an M.A. in English. My chief area of interest while in college was Icelandic sagas.

I am a self-employed proofreader and copyeditor.
