My current question about wikipedia is, "Is it appropriate to add catalog numbers to the 'quick facts' display on most music albums? For example, on Giant Drag's Hearts and Unicorns album, can I add that the catalog number is B0006516-02? What complications arise from listing this?

I think several problems exist:

• -unsupported (how do I use citation to back up my claims that an album does have such a catalog number)
• -multiple catalog numbers (albums are continuously rereleased, should it be the end goal to catalog all issues of an album?)
• -unimportant information (who really cares? is this something people will want to know tomorrow, or 50 years from now?)
