Hello everyone,

I discovered Wikipedia over a year ago and since then have been trying to help out with various articles that I know something about. Some are to do with people I know personally or who are related to me. Some are to do with countries I have lived in as I grew up all over the world. I also have a degree in English literature, have had many jobs editing books, magazines and websites, and possess a graduate teaching degree; so sometimes I can help out in areas related to that. I also help from time to time with some simple copy editing of subjects that I know less about, just as I get a few minutes here and there.

I have especially been editing articles related to my area of most interest and knowledge, which is Mahayana Buddhism. I am a Buddhist in the New Kadampa Tradition and a student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. I have been studying (and trying to practice!) Mahayana Buddhism consistently and thoroughly for almost 30 years and have also taught it widely.

This user is a member of WikiProject Buddhism.

My tradition of Buddhism, Kadampa Buddhism, preaches religious tolerance for other spiritual traditions and the freedom for everyone to practice the religion of their choosing. I am prepared to debate with anyone who wants to take that freedom away, so you will regularly find me on the Dorje Shugden articles (as I rely on Dorje Shugden, who I regard as a manifestation of the Buddha of Wisdom, Manjushri -- and the Dalai Lama has banned the practice.)

I will also contribute to Wiki articles about animals as I believe strongly in their right to be happy and free. (But generally, I steer away from too many politics.)
