Profile[edit]

I'm VietnamUltra Runner, a Dutch electrical engineer, who grew up in Veenendaal, and have lived in beautiful Vietnam since 1995. Although being an electrical engineer, I actually never worked in this field and ended up working for in the construction business and outsourcing business, especially Architectural and Software outsourcing. Back in The Netherlands I did a lot of sports but once I came to Vietnam, I stopped all until 2007. I started to run again, got into Triathlon and finally got involved with a runclub. Starting with short distances, I gradually decided to push the limits and early 2016 I run my first 102km in a 34 degrees Celsius heat.

I love to share my passion for running and motivated others to get into it.

I became a Wikipedian in March 2016 although I previously updated/edited content as a guest.

Interests[edit]

  • Triathlon - My brother used to run and I used to run. A good friend of my pushed me into doing Triathlon. By 2015 I had completed the Ironman 70.3 twice. Once in Vietnam and once in Singapore
  • Running - Running helped me to shed some weight but it especially helped me to get more focus in daily live and feel better. I was given the opportunity to lead a runclub in Vietnam and use this to share my passion of running to others. From beginner to advanced runners.
  • Ultra Running - You have to be a big crazy to do this but in the heat of Vietnam I completed a 44km, 53km, 64km, 65km (In Cambodia ), 70km and 102km run.
  • Software Development - For more than 16 years I've been involved in the software outsourcing business, working in an international environment.
