Dr. P. S. Hardia has been awarded the Guinness Book of World Records certificate for performing a world record of 515,842 eye operations between 1966-1999.

Dr. Pratap Singh Hardia (Dr. P.S Hardia) is a Padma Shri awarded [1][2][3][4][5]and Guinnees World Records recognised[6][7] opthalmologist from Sendhwa, Madnya Pradesh, India. He is commonly refered to as the doctor who 'Pioneered the Concept of Freedom From Spectacles Surgery in India.'[8]

Hardia is the first individual to start Radial Keratotomy in India. In 2001, He invented Pedicle Omentopexy in case of retinal degradation for the very first time in the world, which was covered in a report published by Nova Science Publishers, New York (USA). He also implemented Excimer Lazer Technology for the first time in Asia in 1990 for the surgical treatment of High Myopia.[9]

While treating eyes, Dr. Hardia, who has become a pioneer in his field of practice, not only successfully performed complex eye surgeries in Indore, but also organized thousands of eye medical camps in rural areas.[10] He is the chief of Dr. P.S Hardia Advanced Eye Surgery and Research Institute.[11] He is also the director Shri Shiv Parvati Memorial Charitable Hospital and Research Center[9] and the vice president National Eyecare Training and Research Academy (N.E.T.R.A).

Hardia completed his medical graduation and studies from Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Medical College, Indore (MGM Medical College).[8]
