I am an active university student born in the 2000s studying a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Politics. I am not a super active user of Wikipedia, but I thought that I should be getting on more often to practice some basic code and to help in anyway I can with any kind of minor vandalisms etc.
Most of my edits have been small, simple reverts or changes to articles that have been victims of vandalism. I have not created any pages, but I have very significantly contributed to the Robin Lovejoy page. It is most definitely my single largest contribution to this website.
As you could probably tell by the disgusting-looking and intrusive user-boxes, I am an avid politics and history buff, and you will find that the majority of edits I will make in the coming future will be to do with these fields. I try my best to stay as bipartisan and apolitical as possible in any debate or writing, but NO HUMAN IS PERFECT!!!
In my best words, my political beliefs can be described as a centrist. I hold a strong economically conservative view, with the belief that the vast majority of societial problems and personal, individual prosperity can be achieved through the free market. However, I have pretty strong socially progressive views. Although hetero and cis, I fully support the LBGTQI movement and consider myself an ally. I think any sort of political extremism and any far-leaning political view is inherently wrong. Ideologies such as Anarchism, Communism, Fascism/Nazism and other Alt-right ideologies and negationist groups that advocate for the 'Lost Cause' belief of the Confederates and Holocaust denial are disgusting. I am also an agnostic who does not believe in established religion. Although I respect any individuals right to belief and their religious freedoms, I hold the belief that all religions (especially Abrahamic religions) set progression, both technologically and socially back.
Generally supportive of the current Liberal-National Coalition government currently in power in Australia, with some concerns about the potential corruption involved with the Murray-Darling basin, the vaccine roll-out and the sexual assault allegations that were publicised last year. When it comes to American politics however, I am staunchly anti-Trump, simply on the basis that the now former president spewed vile and divisive rhetoric that had no purpose but to divide the nation and inflame his own base.
Other than politics and history, I am also a avid gamer, mostly focused on PC gaming. I play a lot of strategy games, such as Civilization V, Crusader Kings III and Europa Universalis IV, but I also play quite a bit of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and a LOT of OSRS. Although primarily a PC gamer, I am also very into Nintendo consoles, with Super Smash Bros being one of my all-time favourite franchises, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild being, in my opinion, the most fun I have had with a game in a long time. I have a growing interest in Geneology, having started it as a hobby back in 2015, with my primary family tree standing at nearly 1,500 strong. Also, I really really like the Beatles. In my opinion, still the best band and musical group to have ever graced this earth, with their album Revolver being, in my opinion, the greatest album of all time.
