Notes and references ???[edit]

Hi. As far as I can see, the reference sections of the articles that you are editing only contain references and no notes. Hence I question the changes you are making to these section headings. I also question the change from "Further reading" to "Bibliography". In any case, you really should obtain consensus before making these changes to a large number of articles. Thanks. Hi. "Notes and references" is the recommended name of the section, see Wikipedia:ORDER. It is same situation a "External links" section with only one external link. Éffièdaligrh (talk) 10:51, 12 October 2013 (UTC).[reply]

It is most common for only citation footnotes to be used, and therefore it is most common for only one section [notes OR references] to be needed. The most frequent [section title] choice is "References"; other articles use "Notes", "Footnotes", or "Works cited" (in diminishing order of popularity) for this material. With the exception of "Bibliography", the heading should be plural even if it lists only a single item.

In any case, there was a preexisting style established in these articles. Per WP:CITEVAR, if you want to change it, you first must gain consensus on the respective article talk pages. Thanks. Boghog (talk) 12:12, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
