Image:SBHK_choi_hung_center.JPG listed for deletion[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:SBHK_choi_hung_center.JPG has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it, but use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Proto::type 12:27, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Chinese translations[edit]

You seem to be adding Chinese translations of various Arabic names and places (Saddam Hussein, Damascus, Tehran) to the article headers. I'm not sure why you're doing this, but it's not appropriate to include Chinese translations of Arabic terms in the header of an article in the English Wikipedia. If you are trying to link the articles to the Chinese Wikipedia, the correct way to do that is with language tags. For example, Damascus includes the tag zh:大馬士革, which links it to the equivalent article in zh.wikipedia.org. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 19:40, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thx for reminding me this ~! 0101angelatky06 07:44, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delection[edit]

Recently, I have created a page about The Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong, however, I have received a header about violating the Wiki standard and the page look a bit like advertisment.

Can any frequent Wikipedians tell me what's wrong with my page?? Because I look at the Wiki standard and the other Wiki pages and still can't figure out the right way to fix it, please anyone can help me with this? 0101angelatky06 07:41, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I removed the template as quite a lot of work has been done on the article since it was added. Please see this to compare with the current version. Bjelleklang - talk 08:24, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}}

Thanks for answering my question~! But I am wondering what is "this" in your reply?? I can't actually see the content of "this"~!
Because I really want to know what make the page of The Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong different from the other wiki pages, and hopefully I can learn from it and won't violate the wiki policy later on~! 0101angelatky06 12:22, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bjelleklang gave you a broken link; they meant this link, which appears to be an old diff from the same article. --ais523 13:01, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo sbhk.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo sbhk.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Hku space logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hku space logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:44, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Hk flage red.gif[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Hk flage red.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Fullsbhklogo small.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Fullsbhklogo small.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 22:39, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:Charcoal burning sticker.JPG[edit]

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Charcoal burning sticker.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. File source problem with File:Library_sbhk.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Library_sbhk.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:32, 30 October 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 15:32, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
