August 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Andritolion. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to 500 Days of Summer— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. andritolion (talk) 02:51, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
I think you might be mistaken because an ARCHIVE URL set of the Daily Mail set off an alarm.
If you have checked the diff and have a specific issue with my changes I welcome discussion. -- 109.79.176.69 (talk) 02:52, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rush Hour[edit]

I'm glad you saw a reason to quote directly from the source instead of close paraphrasing like what you did here. At any rate, the reason I attributed the text to L.A. Times and its year of publication was because their paper was the first to report on Chan's criticism of Rush Hour; it only got republished by other outlets several years later. And what the hell do you mean I'm overreaching to claim on something? FYI: You did use contractions in that diff, which MOS:N'T specifically tells editors to avoid in encyclopedic writing. I thought you were saying % was a contraction of percent. My annoyance at having my edits to a moribund low quality article being micromanaged distracted me from noticing that I may have used contractions.
I disagree with you on forcing the use of percent, you should take it to WP:MOSFILM because you're wasting time and ignoring a much larger de facto consensus among film articles. Attempts to get them to agree to doing it your way have failed repeatedly. -- 109.79.176.69 (talk) 14:12, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There's no consensus from WP:FILM against the usage of the word "percent". Just because the vast majority of film articles use the symbol doesn't necessarily make them true, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Since it's you who has a problem with my following the guidelines, take it to WT:FILM. Besides, the onus is on the editor whose edits have been challenged.
