I have a source that says, this although I do not know how to site it. is called "Sybil Ludington: the Life of a Revolutionary War Hero". 162.83.190.171 (talk) 23:30, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's Dacquino: [1]. You should not use a lower-quality source to contradict a scholarly journal. If you STOP edit warring, and provide a page number from Dacquino, I can add it as a footnote saying sources disagree. But as long as you are editwarring, I can't fix anything. Please use Talk:Sybil Ludington to discuss your edits. I will start a section there momentarily. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:54, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please cite your sources: her father was born in Branford, and I haven't located a good source that says that she was. You can discuss your edits at Talk:Sybil Ludington; once an edit has been reverted, it should not be re-introduced without consensus. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:17, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:EDITWAR and WP:3RR and stop introducing uncited text, as you did here (twice). SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:19, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You may find this source helpful; have a look also at Wikipedia's guideline on reliable sources. That is the highest quality source cited in the article now, along with the Smithsonian magazine; we should not use low-quality sources to contradict higher ones. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:25, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Now you are replacing high quality sources with low quality sources of dubious reliability. Please stop or you can be blocked from editing Wikipedia. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:36, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:41, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Please use article talk[edit]

Here is where you can discuss your edits: Talk:Sybil_Ludington#Recent_edit_warring. To accommodate Dacquino, a full ISBN for the version of the book you are using is needed, along with quotes from the source and corresponding page numbers. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:01, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
