What detail do you think is excessive? Daniel Case (talk) 03:59, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fielding Yost infobox[edit]

99.113.173.204, the formatting you are introducing into the infobox at Fielding H. Yost, specifically linking both city and state, is a clear violation of Wikipedia:OVERLINK. Whether "U.S" should be included is a subject of open date; see Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Linking#Need for clarity on linking major American cities. However, the overwhelming standard in practice for Template:Infobox college coach and all North American sports bio articles is not include "U.S". That standard should prevail until an overturning debate is concluded. Thanks, Jweiss11 (talk) 02:42, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tags[edit]

Please take note of WP:TAGFARM when adding tags to articles, in particular There is no need to add "citation needed" tags to numerous unreferenced statements in an article when "unreferenced" or "refimprove" would state equivalent information. I'm referring primarily to 3121 here, since I just came across it. It's true that the article was underreferenced, but adding CN to the end of close to every sentence in a section isn't necessary, because it's superseded by the orange banner. David Brown (American musician) is the same case; there has long been a {{refimprove}} at the top of the page, so additional {{cn}}s for things like dates and other statistics aren't necessary as the problem with the article is already evident.
