Problems[edit]

1) Too much of this article reflects the Iranian viewpoint. It is stated that Iraq claimed almost all of the Shatt-al-Arab river across the thalweg in the early 1970s, but it is not stated that had been the frontier until April 1969. The way this is phrased makes it sounds like the thalweg had been the frontier and then Iraq for no apparent claimed almost of the river, when in fact that those waters had been Iraqi until Iran abrogated the 1937 frontier in 1969. 2) Way too much emphasis has been placed on the role of the United States as a supporter of Iraq. In fact, most of the arms that Iraq used came from in this order the Soviet Union, France and China. The way this article presents things one could think that the majority of Iraqi arms came from the United States and that this is some sort of a crime against humanity. Very much a violation of the NPOV rules. A.S. Brown (talk) 05:00, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
