Welcome[edit]

Hello AKing 1187 and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to Malavika Mohanan, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:32, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for December 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ghajini (2005 film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tamil (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:40, 15 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox Flag[edit]

Flag icons in an infobox is restricted for specific things. A person's profile is not one of them. See MOS:INFOBOXFLAG. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 06:26, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

AKing, again, please don't add flag icons to infoboxes as you did here after Fylindfotberserk kindly asked you not to do so. Flags are not intended to be decorations. See WP:INFOBOXFLAG, please. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:37, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Other edits and issues[edit]

Hi again, looking through some of your other edits, I notice a few other issues:

  1. Here you made a claim that Kamal Haasan was the "First actor in the history of world cinema to portray 10 distinct characters simultaneously". This appears to be clearly false when Buster Keaton played at least 20 roles in The Playhouse and a guy named Johnson George holds the Guinness world record for playing 45 characters in a single film.[1] Grandiose claims, or any claims, really, require proper sourcing and appropriate context. See Referencing for Beginners.
  2. Here, a couple of things: In an article, once we establish someone's full name, we then refer to them by their surname, not by their full name. An exception might be for someone who last name is patronymic, in which case we'd refer to them by their first name. Additionally, you added "debut" to language that already said "beginning". Debut literally means the first time or first appearance, so you have made these sentences needlessly repetitive.
  3. Here and here I can't understand why you're creating tangential links to people uninvolved in the film by indicating who the actors' parents are. That doesn't seem useful to me. The film 96 has nothing to do with Marmadesam or with actress Devadarshini.
  4. Here you've added unsourced content about the subject's schooling. Please provide a reference if you resubmit this content.
  5. Here, while I applaud your effort to clean up the plot section, you should familiarise yourself with WP:OVERLINK. We shouldn't be adding wikilinks for common words/concepts or things that are easily interpreted through context. I think most people know what a time bomb is or could figure it out. Most people know what the President of the United States is or what an elephant is. Most people can infer what a terrorist nation is without having to go to an article on the axis nations. Links should help readers understand the article subject better. And then oddly you use obscure jargon "black cat", rather than just saying National Security Guards or somehow clarifying that we're using slang, like ...after killing two "black cats" ([[National Security Guards]])... In instances when we can use clear language, we should.

It would be appreciated if you'd please keep these things in mind moving forward. Thank you and regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:16, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't flood the External links section of articles with social media outlets like you did here and here and here, etc. We use one official site, whether it's a website, or verified social media outlet. We're not here to help the subjects do marketing or drive traffic to their various social media sites. Please see WP:ELNO for guidance. Also, the correct heading for external links is "External links", not "External Sources". Also notice the capitalisation. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:33, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
