Aleena RfA[edit]

"Hi Lady Aleena, I've added your next RfA to my watchlist." Doesn't that remark mean that she has successfully canvassed herself some future voters? MMMMMMMM (talk) 08:23, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think you'll want to take a look at this discussion and Lady Aleena's response. Thanks. Acalamari 16:03, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ER[edit]

Thank'ee. It's really annoying havign to run to four admins just to keep the harassment levelled at me bearable. Sceptre (talk) 08:46, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. If it helps, I keep your user and talk pages on my watchlist, so if someone trolls and I'm online when they do it, I can help you out. Regards. Acalamari 16:05, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Research Followup[edit]

Hey. The specifics of this project are regarding the validity of wikipedia, and the third of the group which I am responsible for is a more sympathetic slant. Essentially I just need an interview with someone of your position in order to validate my part of the project. (Note: I'm in highschool) Goat77 (talk) 17:11, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation, and since you said you're in high-school, I assume that your research project is being done for a high school project then? That's what I'd like to know. Thank you. Acalamari 17:18, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, yes it is for school, ha... Forgot to specify that. Anyways, yes, this is a project for school. The assignment is specifically a "controversial topic: perspectives" research project, in which I'm responsible for the "insider" perspective as opposed to "student" or "teacher" perspectives. Goat77 (talk) 17:26, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pagemove protections[edit]

I haven't systematically gone through the ones from last night, although it looks like other admins have protected a lot of those pages already. I'll be finished with countries today. It'd be nice if we could get a group together to protect, say, all the Wikipedia 1.0 articles. NawlinWiki (talk) 20:40, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WBOSITG's RfA[edit]

My RfA[edit]

Hi Acalamari, I wanted to say thank you for supporting my request for adminship, which passed with 100 supports, 0 opposes and 1 neutral. I wanted to get round everybody individually, even though it's considered by some to be spam (which... I suppose it is! but anyway. :)). It means a lot to me that the community has placed its trust in my ability to use the extra buttons, and I only hope I can live up to its expectations. If you need anything, or notice something that bothers you, don't hesitate to let me know. Thanks again, PeterSymonds | talk 23:09, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Thank you for banning Ninjatheory. Is it just a 24 hour or forever?--Tyler (talk) 17:27, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked Ninjatheory indefinitely. Only one of their edits was constructive, but it was overshadowed by all their disruptive edits. Acalamari 17:30, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah ok thanks.I think he is mentally ill and doesn't believe in such animals, he compares is to Nessie. --Tyler (talk) 17:34, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers...again :)[edit]

For the user talkpage revert. It sure was a lot easier than trying to think of an alleged answer for the alleged question :) AngelOfSadness talk 17:27, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome! He's been indefinitely blocked now anyway. Acalamari 17:30, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Thanks for granting rollback, I will not abuse the use of this tool. Peterpipper (talk) 20:35, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mate, I'm really sorry, but I've removed the right from this user. Please see Wikipedia:RFCU#Chris19910. I'm deeply concerned about potential damage. Please review this users first edits (yesterday) to note further my concerns of sock puppetry. Pedro :  Chat  20:37, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was not aware of that particular sockpuppeteer. Thanks for catching it. :) I've given some 350 people rollback, so one or two mistakes such as this shouldn't be too much of a problem, should it? :) Acalamari 20:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it'll be an issue :) !! I may well be wrong about this user, and hope to engage the editor in dialogue. But I have a lot of "evidence", including some that is not on this wiki, that this is a blocked user evading their block. Better safe than sorry here. WP:RFCU will resolve it. Pedro :  Chat  20:53, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll see what RFCU says, too. Thanks again Pedro! :) Acalamari 21:05, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hiya, Ac-ala-mari. I made a post at RfR myself, and upon rereading what I wrote, I'm hoping you took no offense to my comments. You are a prolific RfR grantor, something I'm slowly working my way into. I didn't mean for my comment to come off too harsh, and I'm hoping you didn't take it that way. Cheers, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 21:03, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, that's okay Keeper76. :) I'm just more embarrassed that's all (not to mention warm from the weather here!). :) I'm normally more careful with rollback grantings, but in this case, I made an error. This'll only make me more careful. :) Acalamari 21:05, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Warm? What's that like? Glad there's no hard feelings. Best for all to move along I suspect. I also suspect the user in question will be blocked indef within 24 hours. Wanna bet me? Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 21:11, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Nearly 80 out. :) Yes, no hard feelings at all: best to just move on and learn. :) As for the user, I'll go with the bet: if he's blocked, you can send your cold weather out West in exchange for some sunshine, and you can have a free hat too! :) How does that sound? :) Acalamari 21:16, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the smile (and the hat:-) Today actually, is sunny and warm (in my world "warm" means above 50 fahrenheit). I even took the top off my convertible today. Cheers, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 21:41, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome: always happy to spread good cheer around. Best wishes. Acalamari 21:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who won the bet? Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Chris19910 - confirmed as a sock. I reckon Acalamari's buying the next round! :) Pedro :  Chat  21:52, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Time to give Keeper76 his hat then. :) Acalamari 21:56, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Heh! I just noticed the hat on my usertalk, you snuck it in there! I'm a fan of the fedora, excellent choice. Today is Sunny and Warm, mid-60s. A glorious day to not be stuck inside working on a computer! Oh, wait....Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 18:56, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yep: got the hat in. :) I liked the look of the hat, so I thought it would be a good choice for you. Mid-60s? Early to mid-80s here! :) Acalamari 19:12, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heh[edit]

I saw and really didn't care. Glad we both agreed it needed SOMETHING done. MBisanz talk 20:48, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah well, I restored your time anyway: I don't want the appearance of a wheel war on that article. :) Acalamari 20:50, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Teen pop template[edit]

Hey! You seem to have contributed a lot to the teen pop articles! I'm placing the teen pop template on the different artists listed on the teen pop page. Some of them (as you have identified), are seemingly incorrect. If people identify the artist as not being "teen pop", they can remove the template from the page, as well as the reference on the teen pop page. Thanks =) --Xx kidschoice xx (talk) 22:05, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the prompt response and explanation. Yes, I've edited a lot of articles to do with popular musicians and their music. :) To be honest, the main reason I was asking is because I was curious to why you added them: the big template isn't really needed, however, it would be easier just to add "teen pop" to the genres of those musicians rather than a template. On another note, welcome to Wikipedia: I do hope you'll decide to stay and contribute here. Acalamari 22:10, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the intro lol. Yeah, I agree with you for instance - like Robbie Williams... I don't think he is purely targetting teens ... I guess it's all apart of making the teen pop section better and getting more kids involved in editing those articles. It's actually surprisingly small :/ LOL! But take for instance, Miley Cyrus or Aly & AJ, so much of their stuff is purely teen-oriented, kid's will be really interested in finding about, say, other teen popstars, or information on adolescence, etc. --Xx kidschoice xx (talk) 22:17, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, thank you for your contributions then: the popular culture articles are edited a lot, and more people willing to help out there will be a good thing. I do have one suggestion though: I think it may be a good idea to have a look at Help:Edit summary and consider using edit summaries; when using them you'll be able to explain what you're doing when making an edit, and it'll be useful for other editors to know what you're doing. In the meantime, happy editing. Acalamari 22:24, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Thank you for granting rollback to me, much appreciated :) Baberlp (talk) 17:56, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome! You'll find it very useful for reverting obvious vandalism. Best wishes. Acalamari 17:58, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

The first three of those four actually did strike me as at the very least non-constructive edits. The first seemed to me to be an uncited claim that the band had released two near-identical albums for the purpose of making money, the second I see now I misinterpreted - I read it as directly contradicting the paragraph above, and the third was removal of a legitimate tag when the quote hadn't yet been properly cited. The fourth struck me as insulting to the subject by the change of word, but true, that one shouldn't have been rolled back. I'll be more careful about which method I use in future - please don't remove the use of rollback for four possibly mistaken uses with many correct ones? Katharineamy (talk) 19:01, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response. No, I won't remove your rollback for those diffs, as I prefer to discuss with a user first rather than remove rollback rights from them: I had a look at some at some of your other reverts later, and they looked fine, so yes, your reverts have mostly been good, but I still wanted to ask about the other diffs. Anyway, I accept your explanation, and if you plan to be more careful in future with the rollback tool, then you'll be fine. :) Best wishes and happy editing. Acalamari 19:10, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Tom Hanks[edit]

No objections. You did it for a week, which would have been a fine starting point. Always could have extended it later, which is why I declined it. But since you already did it, no problem. - Rjd0060 (talk) 23:54, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay then. Thanks for your input. Acalamari 23:56, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. The Highly Active Users project has gone through a complete revamping per popular demand. We believe this new format will make it easier for new editors to find assistance. However, with the new format, I must again ask you to verify your information on this page. I attempted to translate the data from the old version to the new, but with the extensive changes, I may have made some errors. Thanks again. Useight (talk) 03:50, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RFA Thanks[edit]

Thanks for your support at my recent Request for adminship. I hope you find I live up to your expectations. Best, Risker (talk) 16:09, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yay, thanks! I was wondering if I'd get one of these.Lol, small things! Admin school was useful because it broke down the processes in stages. It was the first day and I noticed the DYK was out of date; I updated it but botched it up the first time I think, leaving the DYK navbox on the main page for about 14 seconds! It took about 15 minutes for me to pluck up the courage to press "save page" again! But it's going well, and no-one's come up to me and said I've done something wrong yet, so that must be a good sign. :) Thanks again and best, PeterSymonds (talk) 16:17, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome for the T-shirt. :) Yes, it can be tough being a new admin: other users, including myself, did take some time to get used to the new tools. You'll settle in soon enough. :) Best wishes. Acalamari 16:20, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thank-spam[edit]

Acalamari/Archive Y, just a note of appreciation for your recent support of my request for adminship, which ended successfully with 112 supports, 2 opposes, and 1 neutral. If there's something I've realized during my RFA process this last week, it's that adminship is primarily about trust. I will strive to honour that trust in my future interactions with the community. Many thanks! Gatoclass (talk) 06:26, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Acalamari. And BTW just between you and me, I'm afraid I've mostly used that rollback feature to undo my own mistakes! :p Gatoclass (talk) 09:04, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome for the support, and for rollback! Good luck! Acalamari 17:57, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

accusation of vandalism[edit]

Hi, I made several corrections to the article on Linear B, which contained numerous errors. Someone reverted all of them and accused me of vandalism!!! Can you help me on this matter? I'd like to help improve your articles, but what's the point when anyone can make unfounded accusations and undermine the improvement of the information you are offering? Thanks for having a look.wakan (talk) 12:57, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you were falsely accused of vandalism, the best thing to do is to talk to the user who accused you, and explain why your edit was not vandalism. Which user accused you vandalism? Acalamari 18:51, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar[edit]

Your message came when I am in the middle of some Wikistress (on ANI) and when another admin is saying that the message wizard is very unhelpful. Thanks for helping me cheer up! Stifle (talk) 23:46, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, I noticed that after posting the Barnstar. :) Funny coincidence. Anyway, I think the wizard is great, and you're welcome for the Barnstar. Best wishes. Acalamari 23:49, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA: Many thanks
Many thanks for your participation in my recent request for adminship. I am impressed by the amount of thought that goes into people's contribution to the RfA process, and humbled that so many have chosen to trust me with this new responsibility. I step into this new role cautiously, but will do my very best to live up to your kind words and expectations, and to further the project of the encyclopedia. Advice[edit]

How should I deal with this? J.delanoygabsadds 18:39, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind... J.delanoygabsadds 19:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I was just going to say ignore and/or remove it, as it appears false. That's all you need to do here. Acalamari 19:20, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was just on Huggle and I saw him accuse another user of the same thing, and then I went to his talk page and saw that he impersonated User:PersianPoetGal. I was going to take it to ANI. Do you think I should? J.delanoygabsadds 19:23, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you think that's a good idea, go ahead, though I suggest making an attempt to talk to the user first instead of going to ANI immediately. I know I said above to ignore the sockpuppet accusation, but I do think it'll be a good idea to ask the user what they're up to. Hope that helps. Acalamari 19:26, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dead Links[edit]

I was just curious, with the dead links and all, why can't a page ever be permanently deleted from a wikia? Isn't it pretty useless to have all those dead links to banned users or anything among the wikia community. I just wanted to know. Lovemuffin333 03:08, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you referring to something on Wikia? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Wikia policies and processes. Acalamari 15:17, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well for anything wiki as seen here, there are quite a few pages that are unnecessary but "still exist". Lovemuffin333 22:50, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think you're referring to redlinks? For example, this link here? Acalamari 22:56, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well yeah redlinks, it's just that for pages such this, those redlinks can clog up space, so why can't they be permanently deleted as to not appear in that list anymore? Lovemuffin333333 05:11, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That particular page lists all the user accounts on the site. The redlinks mean that no user page has been created for a certain user yet. Getting rid of the redlink woulds prevent users without user pages being shown on the list, and would also stop people from creating the user pages as well. Acalamari 23:30, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My recent RfA[edit]

Thank you for supporting my RfA, which unfortunately didn't succeed. The majority of the opposes stated that I needed more experience in the main namespace and Wikipedia namespace and talk space, so that is what I will do. I have made a list and I hope I will be able to get through it. I will go for another RfA in about three month's time and I hope you will be able to support me then as well. If you have any other comments for me or wish to be notified when I go for another RfA, please leave them on my talk page. If you wish to nominate me for my next RfA, please wait until it has been about three months. I will not be checking back to this page so if you would like to comment or reply please use my talk page. Ryulong's talk page[edit]

Please stop edit warring on Ryulong's talk page. That message is redundant and may as well be deleted. If you continue to revert, or the message is allowed to remain, it will only result in more time wasting so please stop. What was wrong with my attempt to close the AFD btw? I am only trying to help clean up around here so more established/experienced users can get on with improving articles, rather than dealing with administration. Arrogant & Intransigent (talk) 15:52, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's heavily frowned upon to remove good-faith comments from talk pages, even if they are redundant, and considered vandalism to remove them disruptively: even if that person's posting is "redundant", that's not a reason to remove it. With the AfD, they're normally left to run for five days, and about one day of discussion and three votes to delete is not a "snow" or "speedy" closure. While you probably had good intentions when closing that AfD, I had to reverse it because it wasn't really appropriate. Acalamari 16:02, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You should try out for the olympics :- ). --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 22:45, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NAS[edit]

Does WP:NAS have a place for something like this? User:Hu12/Spam-blacklisting. I'm not sure its suitable for inclusion there and might be out of the "general knowledge" arena. Thought I'd get your input. --Hu12 (talk) 16:18, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it could have a place in NAS. It wouldn't be somewhere that people would go to as soon as they pass, but they would certainly look at it should they ever need to add to the spam black list. I'd suggest creating a new section on the admin school. If people don't want it, they don't have to use it! :-) Ryan Postlethwaite 16:22, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Seems good to me as well: the new admin school was designed to cut down on newcomer-admin mistakes, and I think that this new page will help new (and more experienced) admins deal with the spam blacklist. Go for it. Acalamari 16:25, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've Moved it to the MediaWiki name space, we could still link to it or create a "Cliffs Notes" version for NAS.
Improve if needed, ect. A shortcut has been created WP:BLACK.--Hu12 (talk) 10:54, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, may I please ask you to semi-protect my user page? It got attacked several times in the past few days (obviously by some hopeful vandals I've had the honor to encounter when checking recent changes), and I find it rather annoying, especially when I detect the vandalism only after several hours. Thanks in advance! Btw, I've sort of copied your message on the top of your talk page, as I considered it quite useful, especially the color! Question about vandalism[edit]

Hi Acalamari! I was wondering if you can give me any advice on how to deal with trivial vandalism? Someone keeps inserting what looks like his own name on esquire, but he claims it's not vandalism. I reverted it twice and then left him a "Welcome to Wikipedia, please use the sandbox" sort of note on his talk page. He changed the esquire page back. I resisted the urge to revert again and instead left a note on his talk page. What's the best thing to do next? Ariadne55 (talk) 20:40, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If it's vandalism, just keeping reverting him, and then warning him using the appropriate warnings, and if he's just adding errors, use the error templates mentioned on that page. I'd refrain from using rollback to revert him, however. Acalamari 20:45, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've addressed the user directly, asking for a detailed explanation of his unusual insistence that his change is "better understood in some areas", before making the change again. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 20:51, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're very welcome, Avruch. I thought that it would be worth letting you know. Thanks for your input. Acalamari 19:18, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kind of a strange end result - now the remedy against appeal is construed to limit not just Everyking, but everyone. Sometimes I find ArbCom to be a bit incomprehensible. Avruch T 16:43, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm...I was not aware that a year had to pass for anyone to request an appeal for Everyking. Prior to today, when did they ever say this? Acalamari 16:46, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is for you[edit]

The Rollin' Barnstar
For spreading rollback rights and helping all us patrollers.

Dr. eXtreme 20:42, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for the Barnstar and the recognition. :) Acalamari 20:45, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Thanks for granting the roll-back in record time! :) Benon (talk) 23:03, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome: the reverts of yours that I reviewed seemed fine. Just remember to use rollback for reverting vandalism only. You may want to take a look at Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback if you're interested in some practice. Good luck. Acalamari 23:07, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

my RfA - Ta![edit]

Gwen gleans, wending keen by the wikirindle.

Thanks for your very kind nomination in supporting my RfA, which went through 93/12/5. I'll be steadfast in this trust the en.Wikipedia community has given me. Cheers! Gwen Gale (talk) 01:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: reverting vandalism[edit]

LOL, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I used to think vandal fighters must be paragons of saint with all the time it took... naerii - talk 14:53, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heh: same here, and before I knew about rollback, I used to wonder why on earth vandal-fighters always typed in "reverted edits by (vandal) to last version by (editor before the vandal)" whenever they reverted someone. :) Acalamari 17:36, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you offer some advice?[edit]

I've recently started trying my hand at creating some requested articles. I'm looking for a good "writing admin" (I've been around anonymously long enough to know there's a difference between "writing admins" and "non-writing admins.") You were on the first page of the administrator's list, and you appear to be well-respected by your fellow editors, so I thought I'd come to you for advice. Are you one, or do you know of one who could be of help to me? I've recently created a few articles from clicking on the "recent changes" link, and writing on the redlinks. I'd just like some feedback regarding how I'm doing so far. Any ideas who to go to? I'd like feedback from an experienced article-writing administrator, if possible. I don't want to be getting the things I create deleted, if I can keep from it. Thanks! S. Dean Jameson (talk) 00:09, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the compliments. :) Anyway, while I do work on content, I don't really work with article creation. With great article-creating admins, VanTucky immediately comes to mind (in fact, I co-nominated him for adminship), and I think Casliber creates a lot of content too. I believe both of them should be able to help you more than I can, for, as I said, I work on content, but not the creation of articles. Let me know how it goes with them. Acalamari 02:00, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have contacted VanTucky. Thanks for the tip! S. Dean Jameson (talk) 03:32, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! Acalamari 15:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IRC[edit]

Can you get on, if you have a mo'? Anthøny 17:04, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I don't use IRC: the only off-Wiki way to contact me is via E-mail. Acalamari 17:05, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thing. I'll send you an email. Anthøny 17:11, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sent. ;) Regards, Anthøny 17:17, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Responded. Sorry for taking some time to respond. Acalamari 17:41, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EVula's RfB[edit]

Well, the candidate was sooooo good that I thought I would vote twice! :) Seriously, thanks for catching my mistake. I appreciate your input. Ecoleetage (talk) 17:04, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. :) I reckoned it was better to let you fix it rather than do it myself. :) As I said, I'm sure EVula appreciates the extra trust. :) Best wishes. Acalamari 17:06, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Question[edit]

It clearly violates POV & as you said, more of a joke. All the same it's not supposed to be entered onto a Wikipedia article & why manually remove it when you can just use rollback? Jokes are basically vandalism anyway, wouldn't you agree? Lradrama 19:15, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation. Personally, it's not something I would have reverted with rollback, but I don't object to your use of it there. You're right that jokes don't belong articles. Interestingly enough, after I posted my message on your talk page, someone decided to vandalize it. :) Best wishes. Acalamari 19:18, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I've just noticed it. Thankyou for reverting it. Can I just ask exactly why you used rollback there? Sorry, a bad joke, which are no more permitted on Wikipedia than good ones - better revert it, but do it manually please. ;-) ;-). Best wishes and happy editing. IP user "75.108.83.180"[edit]

Thanks for blocking this IP for a while, but you may need to do so again. This user has resumed vandalising several television station articles in the same manner as before. I'm currently cleaning up this crap once again. Another block, a longer one this time, has to be in order. Rollosmokes (talk) 05:24, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kafziel has blocked him for a month, so unless that person decides to evade their block by using another IP, you won't have to worry about them for now. Acalamari 16:29, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A question[edit]

Hello Mr Admin, Looking at your userpage i know a lot of users have been fooled into thinking you are a gal, what with your love for various gal singers, dont get me wrong i like some of them as well but its just suspicious:) Just want to ask why is it that you yourself never protect your page in times that its needed and instead rely on other admins? I saw via your logs a couple of days after you became admin, never to do it. Is that just the way you like it? I guess its your philosophy, just like Gwernol who never does it even though his page gets attacked virtually everyday. I asked this of him and its his way. IF i were an admin i would play around with the vandals, just like user Persian Poet Gal does. I guess you want to change it up every once in a while. Thanks, all the best Roadrunnerz45 (talk 2 me) 07:43, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I decided that, unless I really needed to protect any of my own pages, I would leave it up to other admins rather than do it myself. It just seemed more appropriate to let other administrators handle protections of my pages. Acalamari 15:46, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This girl[edit]

Where in sub-WP:ANI page should this girl be reported? She's been adding unsourced figures in Dangerously in Love and B'Day and changing those factually sourced while logged in or as an IP. She was already informed to stop adding those figures and she' gone for a while, but an IP continued those kind of edis. When the latter page was semi-protected, she popped up again. Seems she is the IP user. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 06:10, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, WP:AIV would be the place to go if the user kept adding unsourced information after a final warning, and if a request there was rejected, any admin or ANI itself would be fine to go to. Acalamari 23:53, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 06:41, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
