SS/EG[edit]

Important encyclopedic, biographical information, both historical and for context, is absolutely relevant & not bias or making excuses at all - including actual details about times, track surface speed, weights/weight concessions, beaten competition, what actually took place in rough trips, time between races, distances of races/preps, margins, etc., as much as you think that a jockey gave a horse a "hand ride" when clearly he didn't, as the official DRF chart (in the article's sources) states officially "driving." Just look at the wiki pages of Secretariat, American Pharoah, California Chrome, Frankel (horse), Seattle Slew, Zenyatta, Flightline (horse) etc. Go back and look through all of the content & reliable sources previously cited which you deleted that not only validate these facts, but consider them as important & as relevant as can be historically in a historical context as unprecedented never been accomplished before or very rare feats. Many of the reliable sources are still (some you deleted) in the article, including: Easy Goers bios at the Hall of Fame website, America's best racing, Avalyn porters american classic pedigree, Bloodhorse historical articles, etc.

"Excellence in New York"? I'd say he was excellent showing excellence in every state & track he ran at. Easy Goer won in Florida running the fastest 7f of the meet, & was beaten by the slimmest of margins in the Preakness in Maryland in a near-record 1:53 4/5, & in the Breeders' Cup Classic in FL in a stakes record 2:00 1/5, & finished 2nd twice in the mud at Churchill Downs in Kentucky. Easy Goer lost 2 races in NY, the same amount of losses he had in KY (2), & 1 loss less (1) than he had in FL & MD. Fellow Hall of Famer Forego only won in NY & FL, & he lost 3 races outside NY & FL. Would you say that Forego only showed excellence in NY & FL? If so, his wikipedia article should be updated by yourself as well. Fellow Hall of Famer Man o' War ran 21 career races, & 18 of his 20 wins were in NY. Would you say that Man o' War only showed excellence in NY? If so, his wikipedia article should be updated by yourself as well. Fellow Hall of Famer Native Dancer won 21 times in his career, & 18 of his 21 wins were in NY . Would you say that Native Dancer only showed excellence in NY? If so, his wikipedia article should be updated by yourself as well. Fellow Hall of Famer Tom Fool won 21 times in his career, & 20 of his 21 wins were in NY . Would you say that Tom Fool only showed excellence in NY? If so, his wikipedia article should be updated by yourself as well. Fellow Hall of Famer Ruffian only ran in New York & New Jersey, & all but 1 of her wins were in NY. Would you say that Ruffian only showed excellence in NY? If so, her wikipedia article should be updated by yourself as well. Fellow Hall of Famer Zenyatta only won in California & Arkansas. 17 of her 19 wins were in California. Would you say that Zenyatta only showed excellence in California? If so, her wikipedia article should be updated by yourself as well.

In Easy Goer's Hall of Fame bio on the HOF website (https://www.racingmuseum.org/hall-of-fame/horse/easy-goer-ky ), clearly it is very relevant historically that: "Easy Goer ran the second-fastest Belmont Stakes in history and set the record for the fastest mile ever recorded by a 3-year-old on dirt in 1:32 2/5." So much so it is in the lede & is the first accomplishments cited about him. Also in the same short bio, clearly it is also very relevant historically that: "Easy Goer became the first horse to win the Belmont, Whitney, Travers, Woodward, and Jockey Club Gold Cup, as well as the first 3-year-old to win the combination of the Whitney, Woodward, and Jockey Club Gold Cup."

In this historical Bloodhorse article ( https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/features/waiting-and-waiting-for-crowning-glory-21212 ) , clearly it is very relevant historically that: "Since 1973, only six horses at any point in their career have won three consecutive grade I races longer than 1 1/8 miles on dirt (or synthetic): Alysheba, Easy Goer, and Gentlemen as well as Triple Crown winners Secretariat, Seattle Slew, and Affirmed." You can add only American Pharoah & Justify to this exclusive club.

In many 2009 articles found easily on the web, clearly it is very relevant historically that: "{Summer Bird} has a chance to do what no 3-year-old has in 20 years: win the Belmont Stakes, Travers and Jockey Club Gold Cup in the same year. Saturday at Belmont Park, Summer Bird looks to step up and join Easy Goer and the eight others who swept three of the biggest races. “Any Grade 1 race is important, but when you add onto it the historical significance of Easy Goer being the last 3-year-old to win the Belmont, Travers and Jockey Club Gold Cup in the same year, it’s very meaningful,” said Tim Ice, who trains Summer Bird. “Horses like Man o’War and Arts and Letters did it – if Summer Bird could add this to his resume, it would speak volumes for him.” In addition to Easy Goer, Man o’War (1920) and Arts and Letters (1969), 3-year-olds who have won the Belmont, the Travers and the Jockey Club Gold Cup include Twenty Grand (1931), One Count (1951), Gallant Man (1957), Sword Dancer (1959), Damascus (1967) and Temperence Hill (1980)."

In this ( http://www.brisnet.com/content/2007/09/lawyer-ron-takes-case-to-the-jockey-club-gold-cup/ ) & many other articles, clearly it is very relevant historically that: "Lawyer Ron is bidding (he lost) to become the fourth horse ever to sweep the Whitney, Woodward and Jockey Club Gold Cup in the same season. The chestnut will (he didn't because he lost the Jockey Club Gold Cup) join the ranks of Kelso, Slew o’ Gold and Easy Goer with the elusive trifecta.

In this ( https://www.americasbestracing.net/the-sport/2019-their-own-words-hendrickson-zito-remember-birdstones-travers-victory ) & this ( https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/173191/birdstone-retired-after-suffering-fracture ) & many other articles, clearly it is very relevant historically that: "when you think of the horses that won the Champagne, Belmont and Travers, you've got to really dig deep. Easy Goer comes to mind, but there are not too many horses that have done that. In fact, only one other horse--Easy Goer--has won the Champagne, Belmont, and Travers."

In the Bob Ehalt America's best racing article & source, clearly it is very relevant historically that: "Easy Goer was dominant reeling off easy Grade 1 victories in the Whitney Handicap, Travers Stakes, Woodward Handicap and Jockey Club Gold Cup, making him the only horse to win those four, plus the Belmont. It was a tough campaign and McGaughey said he heard Whittingham’s spirits were lifted when the 1 ½-mile Jockey Club Gold Cup was added to Easy Goer’s busy pre-Breeders’ Cup itinerary.

In the american classic pedigree page & source of Easy Goer, clearly it is very relevant historically that: "Easy Goer's time of 1:32-2/5 for the 1989 Gotham Stakes was the fastest ever run by a 3-year-old on dirt. Easy Goer earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 116 for the 1988 Champagne Stakes, the highest such figure earned by a 2-year-old. Easy Goer's Beyer Speed Figure of 122 for the 1989 Belmont Stakes remains the highest such figure for a Triple Crown race since Andrew Beyer began releasing his speed figures in 1987. At Claiborne, Easy Goer was given the same stall that had belonged to Bold Ruler and Secretariat."

In this article here ( https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1990-09-02-sp-1831-story.html ) & in this article here ( https://vault.si.com/vault/1989/11/13/silence-roars-once-more-in-the-race-for-horse-of-the-year-sunday-silence-outran-easy-goer-in-the-breeders-cup-classic ), clearly it is very relevant that: "The famed Jockey Club Gold Cup has been pared from 1 1/2 to 1 1/4 miles. The $3 million Breeders’ Cup Classic is at 1 1/4 miles and trainers don’t want to run their horses at a longer distance in a prep race. When a trainer does prepare a horse properly for a longer-distance race, he will develop the animal’s stamina at the expense of quickness -- which can be a drawback. It meant that Easy Goer would be coming to the 10-furlong Classic off the 12-furlong Gold Cup—a potentially tricky parlay for a trainer, because the longer race can have the dangerous effect of dulling the colt's natural speed, of blunting the quickness that he might need in the shorter race. In contrast, trainer Charlie Whittingham had run Sunday Silence only twice in the five months since the Belmont, both times over a 1¼-mile distance—in the Swaps Stakes at Hollywood, where he finished second, and two months later in the Sept. 24 Super Derby at Louisiana Downs, which he won."

As far as only listing horses progeny's G1 wins & no other Graded or Group stakes wins? Well, you should have a ball editing & deleting so many horses wikipedia pages, including removing all of the non-G1 stakes listed for progeny of your name sake Afleet Alex, Sunday Silence, California Chrome, American Pharoah, A.P. Indy, Tapit, Smart Strike, Pulpit, Northern Dancer, Nijinsky, Hero's Honor, etc., which include all of these non-G1 stakes listed here on wiki in theirs & others articles: Louisiana Legends Mademoiselle Stakes, Straight Deal Stakes, Discovery Handicap (on Afleet Alex), Kentucky Cup Distaff Stakes (on Afleet Alex), Delaware Oaks (on Afleet Alex), Barbara Fritchie Stakes (on Afleet Alex), "Afleet Alex has sired Puerto Rico Gr.II winner Cuqui's Love, and the Japanese stakes winning mare Better Sweet", Aristides, Jessamine Stakes, Del Mar Breeders' Cup Handicap, Saratoga Special, Plate Trial Stakes, Affirmed Stakes, Shared Belief Stakes, San Pasqual, Alysheba Stakes, Gulfstream Oaks, Hawthorne Gold Cup, Molly Pitcher, Tampa Bay Derby, West Virginia Derby, Jim Dandy, Dixie Stakes, Demoiselle Stakes, Remsen Stakes, San Vicente, San Felipe, Prix du Bois, Manitoba Derby, Selene Stakes, Prix Djebel, Black eyed susan, santa ysabel, Canadian Oaks, Dominion Day Handicap, Fair Play Stakes, Seagram Cup, Pan American Handicap, Cup and Saucer Stakes, Bison City Stakes, Virgil Handicap, True North Handicap, Gulfstream Sprint Championship, Monmouth Oaks, Noble Damsel, San Gorgonio, Prix Kergolay, etc. In Sunday Silence's wiki article, it states Agnes Gold sired Silence Is Gold, Abu Dhabi, Mais Que Bonita, Abidjan, Antonella Baby, Ivar, Energia Fribby, Hevea, Honra Real, Nathan, Olympic Kremlin, Culo e Camicia, Olympic Jhonsnow, Orfeu Negro, Olympic Las Palmas, Janelle Monae, In Love, Online, Look Of Love and No Fear. Please list all of the G1 stakes races these horses won. Like these others, at the very least, all Graded/Group stakes and/or all stakes races with wikipedia articles (links) should be listed. Corinthian's other graded stakes win was the G2 Gulfstream Park Handicap. Storm Flag Flying won the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, G1 Personal Ensign, G1 Frizette, G1 Matron & G2 Shuvee. Lion Tamer's other graded stakes wins were the Hutcheson Stakes, Commonwealth Stakes & Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship. Magical Fantasy's other graded stakes win was the Santa Barbara Handicap. Audible won the G1 Florida Derby & G2 Holy Bull Stakes. Funny Moon won the G1 Coaching Club American Oaks & G2 Shuvee Handicap. Dynamic One won the G1 Suburban Handicap. Furlough won the G1 Ballerina, G2 Distaff Handicap & G3 Honorable Miss Handicap. Composer won the G2 Jim Dandy Stakes. Relaxing Rhythm won the G2 Molly Pitcher Handicap, etc. Tiz Miz Sue won the G1 Ogden Phipps & two G2 Azeri Stakes. Jetto won the G2 Honeybee Stakes. Promiscuous won the Display Stakes. Parading won the Dixie Stakes & Ben Ali Stakes. Ditto for Desert Hero (San Rafael Stakes), Navesink River (Pan American Handicap & Gallant Fox Handicap), Happy Hunting (Aqueduct Handicap), Easyfromthegitgo (Iowa Derby & Lecomte Stakes), Spring Waltz (Rampart Handicap), Quiet Temper (Fair Grounds Oaks & Delta Princess Stakes), etc., & their Graded Stakes wins. If you are against it because of length (lists being too long), well you also should have a ball significantly shortening the lists of so many horses wikipedia pages lists, including your name-sake Afleet Alex, Sunday Silence, California Chrome, American Pharoah, A.P. Indy, Tapit, Smart Strike, Pulpit, Northern Dancer, Nijinsky, Hero's Honor, & whole lot more. You also make a lot of errors that need corrections, and not just minor errors. The margin in the BC Juvenile was a length & a quarter, not 2 1/2. The final time in the Preakness was 1:53 4/5, not 1:53.3.LALTBBPITP (talk) 01:17, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

AfleetAlexsBalance- What are your thoughts regarding all of these points? Thanks. 100.37.136.233 (talk) 00:00, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Justify[edit]

Information icon Hello! I'm JRHorse. Your recent edit(s) to the page Justify (horse) appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been reverted for now. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Also reverted Santa Anita Derby and Bob Baffert; in all cases, as noted here and in other reliable and published sources, the judge ordered the California Horse Racing Board to issue a new ruling with regard to Justify. The judge's ruling itself does not disqualify the horse. JRHorse (talk) 04:02, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
