Copyright problem icon Your addition to Working class has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material (from here) to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, Oxford University Press. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. --BurritoBazooka (talk) 21:26, 14 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please don't edit category pages, as the edits you have made clearly show that you don't understand how Wikipedia categories work. At some time in the future, when you have had more experience of editing, you may understand categories well enough to be able to usefully edit them. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Working class, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. LeapUK used the word "Lowerclass". That may have been a mistake, or it may have been intentional: it is not for you to decide what he or she "should" have written and impose your version. I removed the discussion that you started here.

On behalf of all Wikipedia editors, let me apologize to you for not making sure that the wording that I added in this edit wasn't on that page before you saw it.

Please read Wikipedia:Not now and continue contributing to the encyclopedia. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 00:49, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alderman Knight School[edit]

Another editor removed a large part of Alderman Knight School because it appears to be a copyright violation. Wikipedia takes copyright seriously. As much as practical, Wikipedia articles should be written in your own words. Editors should also avoid close paraphrasing when writing Wikipedia articles.

On another note, while articles about high schools are routinely "kept" if nominated for deletion, the same is not true for articles about lower-grade schools. Lower-grade schools are typically redirected to a "parent" article or an article about a "parent" organization. For publicly-funded schools in Gloucestershire County, the "parent" article would be List of schools in Gloucestershire. Do not be surprised if the article is turned into a redirect soon. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 03:34, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To expand on Davidwr's first point: you cannot just copy material from the school's website into the article. This is a violation of copyright and could result in you being blocked from editing. Please rewrite the content in your own words and just cite the school website as a source. Nikkimaria (talk) 14:48, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
