Hi, thanks for the welcome. My intention was not to advertise or to climb on my soapbox. I am trying to provide information about local scooter shops in Southern California. I am not affiliated with the shop in question, other than it's my local shop of choice. There are very few shops that work on classic scooters in Los Angeles and Orange counties - I wanted to try and provide help for others that may be looking for a local repair shop. Wikipedia has several good articles on scooters and scootering, so it seemed like a natural place to provide information for those that may be interested. I couldn't find any independent sources who say that Bar Italia Classics is well known, reliable, or filling a special need in the Los Angeles area. If you could cite reputable books, magazines, or news media sources that say this shop is significant and has made some unique contribution to Vespa culture or whatever, I could see how it might be encyclopedic.

Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a directory, and if your goal is to help interested parties find this shop, the Open Directory Project is the right place for that -- just submit the url there and it can be listed under their Vespa category. If you're thinking along the lines of broader how-to advice for Vespa owners, something like that might possibly meet the criteria of Wikibooks, but probably in this case DMOZ.org is the way to go.--Dbratland (talk) 00:04, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
