Thanks.

Sorry if I seemed curt; I was trying to work quickly to get everything set up before someone pointed out the reason I was doing it (Uh-oh (Cowboy Mouth album)) wasn't in existance. We had, btw, records under Uh-oh, Uh-Oh, and Uh-Oh! (phrase, an album and a film). Seriously needed a disambig page considering that, and I was adding a *second* album with the name! --Thespian 13:40, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question.

It's still block-worthy to revert it a maximum of thrice tomorrow? I suppose that makes sense. Even if I don't do it, someone else will. Good job on reporting him, too. And I'm aware that you're not singling me out, so don't worry about that. You're only doing your job to keep this place cleaned up, same thing that most of us want to do. 142.176.46.3 15:31, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And I thank you for being as polite as you have been about this. I understand what I did wrong now, having forgotten about that rule, and I will be sure not to forget about it in the future. It would please me if more users of the internet could be as civil as you, and not resort to childish name-calling and such when they find a problem. I'm not pointing any fingers at all, I assure you, I'm simply observing that a good majority of folk on the internet behave as such. 142.176.46.3 15:49, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the school uniform article

Dear Angus Lepper, I was reverting the school uniform article as I was extremely offended by what Egard89 was doing, which I assume to be vandalism. I did invite him for discussion, but he was unwilling to participate, and gave unacceptable excuses for deleting the pictures. If you look at my "Discussion Page", you warned me the 1st time at 15.24 UTC, and suddenly reported me at 15.30 UTC, when my final editing was at 15.18 UTC. So I was in fact reported without a warning at all. Please could you help? Cavernosa 00:00, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What was wrong with the prince's of the universe? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, that you just haven't seen my question yet.Haelstrom 13:57, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You reverted my page Haelstrom 19:54, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I never vandalized, RandomHumanoid claims I did, then he tags my explanation as vandalism and says "There's nothing more to say about it". I say, there is more to say about it (repeat my explanation) and tell him to read WP: Civil. An admin says I'm right, then RandomHumanoid gets his SOCKPUPPET Nishkid64 to block me making it appear as if he has some sort of community backing. my explanations we're all deleted, so I could not easily revert http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&page=User:Haelstrom Haelstrom 20:23, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
it seems all disagreements here are ended by who screams vandalism first

AIV report

Thank you for making a report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators generally only block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. --Chaser - T 17:48, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned in my reply (as, because this is only a warning, I'm not sure if he'll have watched this page) at Chaser's talk page, the user had actually vandalised twice since his last warning and so I was quite right in reporting him. Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 18:27, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My AIV report (link to diff) The user had vandalised Wikipedia since I had given him a last warning, about a week ago. Twice, in fact. I'll re-add him to the page. Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 18:22, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I realize the editor vandalized; that's not the issue. We generally don't block IP editors for week-old warnings because IPs can be dynamic, which means they change and a new editor usually doesn't see the old warnings. I don't see anything to indicate that this person is the same as previous user's of the IP, so I'm not going to block when there hasn't been any vandalism after a recent warning (recent like last 24 hours).--Chaser - T 18:29, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay, sorry. I hadn't encountered this before (and, indeed, have seen IPs still blocked for such warnings) but it makes plenty sense. It wasn't clear from the initial warning, is all. Sorry for having readded him (I'll go remove him if he hasn't already) and thanks muchly for the clarification. Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 18:33, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem; now you know. I appreciate your counter-vandalism help. Keep up the good work!--Chaser - T 18:35, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Carl Hewitt

Hi! During the recent AfD discussion about the article Carl Hewitt you expressed some concerns about the article, and suggested that it needed to be rewritten. I have undertaken a substantial rewrite of the article in an attempt to address the concerns raised by you and other editors, and would appreciate it if you could look over the current state of the article to see if you have any suggestions for further improvement. Thanks. --Allan McInnes (talk) 14:09, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My initial response, upon casting an eye over the article, is that you've done a fantastic job. I'll take a closer look after I've eaten and gone to get some messages. Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 17:05, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! --Allan McInnes (talk) 06:10, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please go to the talk page and try to break the stalemate. Edits go round and round, and no one seems to be willing to try to reach some consensus by voting the worst ideas out. My last attempt (using an #expr: parser function) proved unusable. Urhixidur 22:28, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

bots? no

Wow! Sorry for the Bot... it's just that your comment was immediately after I left it, it struck me as automated!

As for vandal warnings, I tend to forget sigs on those sometimes. I'll work on that. I get just as annoyed with unsigned comments (of actual substance) in real article talks too.

Have a great day!

VigilancePrime 22:54, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! And yes, Angus Lepper would be a strange name for a bot, but I've seen stranger!!!
Any chance you have the power to block that other guy?
Thank you and Good night. I'll stop causing problems now.  ;-)

Biju

Angus, thank you for your message (and for actually doing the deletion). I didn't want to do the actual deletion myself. Self-promotion is very prevalent on the Indian subcontintent (if you haven't noticed it already). Yes, I have been putting off creating an account here but I will soon. Using asterisks

Hello!

Well, since on all year pages, where there (as yet) are no people under Births or Deaths, there's always one asterisk. I too wondered about it when I began editing Wikipedia, but apparantly, there should be one. Have a look at other year pages if you don't believe me. /Ludde23 Talk Contrib 18:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me

I've reverted 1 time on that page. That is no where near 3RR violation. I'd appreciate you remove that baseless warning on my talk page please. Had I gotten to maybe 2 reverts, I could see a reason to be worried, but I've done it only once.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 21:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. Thanks for at least making it known for anyone that happens across that I wasn't really doing that. I am going to report User:=CJK=, as he was previously warned about 20 minutes before you warned him, and continued to revert.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:05, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Of course there are no bad feelings. I actually hope CyberGhostface doesn't get any heat over this. I'm going to try and point out that someone stepped in and warned them both about edit warring, and it was CJK's actions after that that I am reporting.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:14, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

sorry

i wasn't trying to spam or vandalize anything. i just wanted to contribute to the Brain Eaters article and the "unknown" guitarist, Pete "Damian" Marshall, but my computer acted weird.. so i just wanna apologize for any inconvenience... ........

Subtle Vandal

As you noticed, User:THE IRANIAN PED is probably a vandal-only account, so we don't want to give him ideas, as in WP:BEANS about templating. Don't feel bad, he had me fooled and I had to look at his history carefully before warning him. Rmasbury 21:51, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The above was in relation to the insertion of a highly controversial and potentially inflamatory statement (which, importantly, was unsourced) which the user kept adding to an article on Pakistan, stating that many people were turning to terrorism in Pakistan. This statement had been removed several times, and the user kept reinserting it, claiming removals were 'vandalism'. An administrator has since pointed out that the removal was correct, and the user has now been IP-blocked. Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 14:25, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I. Aurunculeius Cotta

Hi Mr. Lepper,

You queried why I deleted the page on I. Aurunculeius Cotta. That's because I made a mistake and confused the L. with the I. The real name of that person is L. Aurunculeius Cotta (Lucius Aurunculeius Cotta). I deleted that page because the material should have been posted under the name of Lucius Aurunculeius Cotta. I did that and now that article may be found here: Lucius Aurunculeius Cotta. The article is not formatted professionally. I apologise for my ineptitude but I am a newbie. Many thanks.

Thanks!

Hi Mr. Lepper,

thank you very much. Er... would it be too much trouble to delete the page on I. Aurunculeius Cotta? The guy does not exist so there's not point in moving the link to Lucius Aurunculeius Cotta. Once again, I apologise for my ineptitude and thanks for your help.

regards and thanks

Thank you for everything!

Dear Mr. Lepper,

The changes you wrought are exactly what I needed. Thank you for all your help.

Barbara stiegler

You have placed a speedy deletion tag on Barbara stiegler. This article is a redirect to Barbara Stiegler. I created the article because it didn't seem to redirect to Barbara Stiegler without it. Perhaps you can fix it. Technietzsche 23:05, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: C (programming language) source highlighting

Ooh, I didn't know. I searched the talk page for the subject, but couldn't find anything so I just changed it. Actually I still can't find it, but that's okay. I'm glad you didn't go berserk or something :P. --Ysangkok 18:53, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warnings

Hi there; while I have absolutely no criticism of your posting a warning to the IP editor who vandalised the Ruth Kelly article, most of us tend not to be keen on blocking after only a single warning, unless there is a previous long history of vandalism, or the account is clearly a vandalism-only account. I have added one more wwarning, and will mercilessly block if he transgresses again.--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 20:21, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See here is the thingi needed to find that page and the only way was to request my protection and i deleted it thou. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sparrowman980 (talkcontribs)

I removed it to give her/him a warning "4" since they already had been blocked for creating inappropriate pages. I hope you understand! Cheers! :) MAJ5 (talk) (contribs) 14:35, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I thought it was a bot considering the name was PennyBot lol. I reported him here on UAA and I thought of reporting him on AIV if he didn't get username blocked because he vandalized after release of block. MAJ5 (talk) (contribs) 14:40, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nexus

Dear Angus, can you please stop altering the Nexus Productions page to re-direct to Pete Cooke. He is not a current employee of Nexus Productions. Kind regards, Gareth Bourne, the very real interactive producer at Nexus Productions. Garethbourne 15:28, 2 July 2007 (UTC)2nd July, 16.28[reply]

Stations

I only edited it because of the Wikipedia policy which seems to prefer country-specific spelling in articles about country-specific "things." If you get what I mean. The Oxford English Dictionary seems to prefer "railway station." Mojo 16:55, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My talk page

Thanks for the revert to my talk page. Am not entirely sure why someone would wish to vandalise it by removing a completely dull section, but there you go! Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 17:15, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On second thoughts, have just noticed that the editor concerned must have been a bit miffed by my flagging one of his pages... Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 17:16, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi angus - I deleted the article in order to put it back up with the correct heading: It wasn't corrcetly capitalised, which was my fault and I had no idea how to put this right. Have done so now - thanks.

User:Klass is now indef blocked. The original message was in response to an edit war at the article, where I thought it was just removal vandalism. When I checked the talk page, I discovered it was not, and reverted my reverts on the article. Before I had done so, however, I had request 1 hour semiprotection for the article. I have since apologised to the admin who checked the article and pointed out that there was no vandalism but an edit war continuing. Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 13:02, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
