We welcome articles you might like to create but I'd recommend sending them via the WP:AFC process first or they'll likely get deleted straight away. Thanbkyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 14:19, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

November 2019[edit]

Hi, can I also confirm you have no WP:COI with FICO. Thankyou. 22:56, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

  • You cannot confirm. I do have a connection and I'm afraid that would disqualify me from writing this but my connection isn't related to an interest in marketing or sales. Perhaps ironically, I wanted to create an "unbiased" description since everything I've seen was from the "inside" which as you can imagine is full of marketing slant. It seems there's a very fine line for writers of proprietary software if there's a connection and I understand the reasons for this. There's nothing more irritating then a sales pitch on Wikipedia. Do you suggest I not write about something I am connected with? This page was meant to be a draft but I went about it in the wrong manner since I'm a wiki newb aside from minor edits. - anthonybakermpls
  • Thanks anthonybakermpls, its absolutely great your are open an honest, and Wikipedia has ways of working with that although they are much harder. It is quite hard to write an unbiased article, and it requires scrutiny. First bit of bedtime reading is signing Wikipedia:Signatures with four tildes. Per WP:COI if you are prepared to and can place a UserboxCOI yourseslf on User:Anthonybakermpls
{{UserboxCOI|1=Mosel (programming language)}}

that covers the basics on a disclosure process (its probably truer to say you likely have a connection with a major user of that language, but its probably easier to simply declare as above. I can then move things a little forward. Thankyou.Djm-leighpark (talk) 18:54, 8 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
