Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for Image:Palazzo di Muro Leccese 1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Palazzo di Muro Leccese 1.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 23:36, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Marqués de Rubí, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/RR/fru1.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. File source problem with File:Ambassador Charles Burke Elbrick.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Ambassador Charles Burke Elbrick.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:24, 19 July 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Martin H. (talk) 12:24, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Prince of Belmonte Arms- Granito impaling Pignatelli with Pavilion.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Prince of Belmonte Arms- Granito impaling Pignatelli with Pavilion.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. [tk] XANDERLIPTAK 03:13, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems with File:Xanthe Elbrick Tony Awards.jpg[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Xanthe Elbrick Tony Awards.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/200706/11/eng20070611_383011.html. As a copyright violation, File:Xanthe Elbrick Tony Awards.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Xanthe Elbrick Tony Awards.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Martin H. (talk) 15:21, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

With adding {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} (note the word "self") you claim, that you "the copyright holder of this work, hereby grant the permission to distribute and/or modify this document under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License". Thats very generous. However you are neither the author nor the copyright holder, so your claim is simply nonsense copyfraud. Stop making false claims on other peoples work. Thank you very much. --Martin H. (talk) 15:26, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Citation tags[edit]

Tags are added where a fact is introduced without a corresponding citation. It is not enough to say, "But it's true, trust me." Wikipedia requires verifiable facts, facts that can be cross checked. Wikipedia has malicious editors who enter information on the claims that their entry is factual without ever providing evidence of their case, often to the detriment of the community and its users. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for more, and how to cite a source.

Nomination of Andrew Stewart Jamieson for deletion[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Andrew Stewart Jamieson, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andrew Stewart Jamieson until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.

Your articles are a total mess[edit]

Stop adding such over-detailed and irrelevant nobility articles, at least until you haven't read WP:Manual of Style and other guidelines. --'''Attilios''' (talk) 09:40, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:CardinalGennaroGranitoPignatellidiBelmonte.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:55, 15 June 2012 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 09:55, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:AcerenzaPinelliArms.JPG or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
