Karagandy Zoo move[edit]

I noticed that despite the fact that the city is still named Karaganda on the English Website, you have boldly moved the Zoo article to Karagandy Zoo. Please see the talk page here.

I also noticed that you just (in 2012) put "support" in the 2008 discussion for the city move -- twice. The 2008 discussion was closed and it says so, and it should not be modified. I have removed these items from the 2008 closed discussion, but I have not removed any of your other comments from move discussions. Don Lammers (talk) 18:50, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing that is specifically against consensus regarding the city name of Karaganda (as you well know because you were part of the discussion on the talk page. As long as the article is named the way it is, references to it need to remain "Karaganda", and as long as articles on related institutions remain named as they are, those references should also remain "Karaganda". You have failed to get consensus on this issue, and as long as that remains true, the name of the city on the English Wikipedia is "Karaganda". Don Lammers (talk) 13:12, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Kazakh help needed[edit]

Hello Arystanbek, I'm contacting you because we need some Kazakh translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on kk.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Kazakh Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 22:22, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Arystanbek, sorry! I forgot that you have already been helping - thank you for making the very good VE page on kk.wiki. Keep up the good work, and if possible, there is more over at TranslationCentral! PEarley (WMF) (talk) 22:27, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok--Arystanbek (talk) 09:44, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

wikEd translation[edit]

Hi Arystanbek,

I have updated your wikEd translation to the current version (0.9.119c). It would be great if you could find the time to translate the new additions into English. Please let me know here if you have any questions or suggestions.

Thanks in advance, Cacycle (talk) 14:03, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Thank you. --Arystanbek (talk) 03:55, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Karagandy[edit]

Please once again stop being disruptive about the name of this fair city. The proper way to do this is to make a case at Talk:Karaganda and build consensus to move the page. These edits break the history of the article, and give obviously bogus reasons for a speedy delete which would be inappropriate even if the article got renamed. Staecker (talk) 13:54, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

February 2014[edit]

Would you please stop edit warring and go to Talk:Charsk to discuss the issue. Given that you have a long documented history of pro-Kazakh POV pushing, blocking your account may be the next step. Thank you for understanding.--Ymblanter (talk) 12:33, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and copypasting Charsk into Shar (town) was certainly not a good idea. Lack of proper attribution, creating a fork, and POV pushing simultaneously.--Ymblanter (talk) 12:48, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for correcting my spelling[edit]

Hi there,

Thanks for correcting my spelling on your actual language (and thanks for putting up the GoogleTrans gadget on your kkwiki.)

Actually, I uses a desktop where the 'see' key doesn't work. so I couldn't type your language's name correctly.

Thanks for correcting me.

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar
Nice job on the KKWIKI. 212 thousand articles per 10 million speakers. That a better ratio than the ENWIKI. Liked the look of the wiki too. Endo999 (talk) 06:25, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Endo999: thank you! :) --Arystanbek (talk) 14:13, 24 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

GoogleTrans gadget api has become invalid[edit]

Hi there,

The existing Google API key has become invalid for some strange reason. I have changed the API key to run on another key I have and the gadget on the enwiki is running okay now. In order to pull in the enwiki version each time you simply need the one line in the gadget file:

mw.loader.load('//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Endo999/GoogleTrans.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');

Now I have a newer version in the works at:

mw.loader.load('//en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Endo999/YandexTrans.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');

which allows you to switch between the Yandex translation engine and the Google translation engine. You may be interested in this one since the Russian translation engine may do a better job with Kazak. Yandex translation engine is set at the default for this version, but it is easily possible to set the google translation engine by going to the language change screen.

@Endo999: done! Thank you for informing --Arystanbek (talk) 16:07, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, GoogleTrans is working well now on the kkwiki. I must compliment you again on your kkwiki, it is quite good.

Since you installed the GoogleTrans gadget on your kkwiki, it has added the ability to do machine translation in the Content Translation system. If you have to gadget installed on your kkwiki and you enable it there, you can

1) select a paragraph in the second column of the Content Translation system.
2) Hold the CTRL and ALT keys down for a second together.
3) this paragraph will then be translated from whatever language is in the first column to the Kazak language in the second column (with the HTML markup kept). This aids in translation, as a competent Kazah speaker can turn the bad Kazak either Google or Yandex has created with its machine translation system into good Kazak quite quickly.

Consult [[1]] and [[2]] on how to do this.

If you get your own key from Yandex translation, and insert it in place of my Yandex api key, then you can have a version of GoogleTrans that runs on your Yandex api key (which is free to use). From that point on you don't need to worry about character translation limits.

Right now the gadget defaults to the Google translation engine, until you set it to Yandex translation engine. See the help above for how to do this.

I see you tagged these for merger, but you didn't start a discussion, or even provide a rationale. Could you please do so? DMacks (talk) 14:11, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
