Information icon Hello, I'm Czar. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Please read Wikipedia:Verifiability#Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources in relation to your multiple postings of http://boompopmedia.com links as references on articles. czar · · 15:04, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please revert your edits that added BoomPopMedia as a source. BoomPopMedia is not listed as a reliable source by WP:VG/RS. Also if you have any affiliation with the content of your editing, remember to disclose it (see COI). Thanks czar · · 15:12, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Again, with all due respect, I do not believe that BoomPopMedia is an unreliable source and I would like to petition for it to be included as such. It has a higher Alexa ranking in the U.S. than many of the sites listed as reliable (http://www.alexa.com/search?q=www.firingsquad.com&r=home_home&p=bigtop) so I do not feel it is unreliable. If you could please provide me with an appropriate measure to compare against, I would be happy to do so. AtlasBurden (talk) 15:20, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I highly recommend taking a look at the pages on reliable sources linked above (specifically Wikipedia:Verifiability#Reliable sources), as I don't think you'd want to go through the process of petitioning for BoomPopMedia if you did. Reliability has very little to do with Alexa ranking. An appropriate measure would be the video games WikiProject's list of reliable sources: WP:VG/RS. Do you have an affiliation with BoomPopMedia? czar · · 15:44, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Video games WikiProject[edit]

To put the source issue behind us, we appear to have a mutual interest in video games from your talk page message. I want to invite you to the video games WikiProject, if you'd be interested. Here are a list of our current activities and you can watch the talk page for the latest discussion. Let me know if you have any questions and I hope to see you around czar · · 16:15, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah for sure! Happy to help! AtlasBurden (talk) 16:33, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

boompopmedia.com[edit]

Just to let you know - if I see you adding another link to boompopmedia.com to an article, [1] I shall propose that the website be added to our blacklist. AndyTheGrump (talk) 22:46, 28 June 2013 (UTC) ...And that goes for listogames.com too... AndyTheGrump (talk) 23:07, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please heed this warning, you are editing with a clear and admitted conflict of interest, whatever you say the only way to convince editors that you are not violating the guidelines would be to cease inserting links to this site. You are engaged in text book reference spamming and continuing to do so will likely have consequences. Яehevkor 12:27, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
