Proposed deletion of Bela Kahn[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bela Kahn, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Truthanado (talk) 01:47, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of material[edit]

Please stop removing material from the Sephardic cuisine page for no good reason. You are welcome to add information and sources, but vandalism will not be tolerated. --Gilabrand (talk) 03:36, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop accusing me of things I didn't do. I moved the pertinent information to Cuisine of the Mizrahi Jews. It does not belong on the Sephardic cuisine page. It is vandalism, and false accusations of vandalism will not be tolerated.

There is a marked and distinct difference between Sephardic and Mizrahi cuisines and cultures, which is why I created the page and moved the offending content there.

For more specifics, you will see that all of the information which is about cuisine of Jewish communities with no significant Sephardic population, such as Iran, has been moved to the new page. Iran, and Iraq are not Sephardic countries, rather they predate Sephardic Jews altogether, and no significant population of Sephardic Jews ever settled there, to be enough to consider them Sephardic populations. Non-encyclopedic slang terminology does not qualify as fact, therefore it stands to reason that the offending material be removed, not to the trash, but to an appropriate page. "traditional Iraqi dress"[edit]

On Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu's page you changed traditional Sephardic dress to traditional Iraqi dress. Can you please tell me the source of this claim, especially since other non-Iraqi Sephardic Chief Rabbis have worn this robe as well. You can comment here. Thanks. --Shuki (talk) 19:28, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please verify which non-Iraqi Chief Rabbis have worn this dress? I know of none. Avigayilneshama (talk) 12:10, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It may have been a mistake, however, the dress is NOT sephardic. It is middle eastern. Avigayilneshama (talk) 12:22, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
