Speedy deletion warning[edit]

A tag has been placed on Polynesian Soldier Crew, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Polynesian Soldier Crew is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Polynesian Soldier Crew. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. MER-C 10:13, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A warning[edit]

Just a friendly warning, you might want to read up on wikipedia's policies, especially Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:No original research and Wikipedia:Vandalism. Many of your recent edits on North Shore gangs are unsourced and dubious. More then one of them was tagged for speedy deletion by someone else. However in at least one instance, you removed the tag. If you had read the tag, you would have noticed it said

but do not remove this notice from pages that you have created yourself

and

If you created this page and you disagree with this page's proposed speedy deletion, please explain why on its talk page, after adding the text "hangon" with two brace brackets into the article, following the {{db-reason}} tag at the top of the article

As such, it was in violation of policy for you to remove the tag like you did. I have re-added the tag and also asked others to look into your additions. Nil Einne 23:31, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Attack page warning[edit]

Please do not create attack pages. They are speedily deleted on sight, and do not contribute anything to Wikipedia. Please contribute constructively or not at all. Thanks, and welcome to Wikipedia. --Konstable 09:33, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Jeopardy Theory[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jeopardy Theory, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Greatestrowerever 10:54, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Jeopardy Theory. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. --Onorem 11:10, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Theperfectlie.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Theperfectlie.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

AfD nomination of Michael Maguire II[edit]

I've nominated Michael Maguire II, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Michael Maguire II satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Maguire II and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Michael Maguire II during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Scribe - Rhyme Book.[edit]

I notice you've been making a lot of editing changes to the Rhyme Book article. Instead of saving every small change you make, you may consider using one of the sandboxes that are available before you commit your edits to the main page.

Also, if you could please ensure that you include a descriptive edit summary with any edit, even one that you deem to be minor, to assist other editors and admins in checking diffs. It is particularly helpful when pages are still in development by their primary contributor.

Cheers and Happy editing.

10aciouss[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article 10aciouss, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. gadfium 08:17, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Beneaththeradar.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Beneaththeradar.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:05, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem[edit]

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hoax[edit]

Please do not add hoaxes to Wikipedia. Hoaxes are caught and marked for deletion shortly after they are created. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method is to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia – and then to correct them if possible. Please don't disrupt Wikipedia in an attempt to test our ability to detect and remove such material. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia policy to learn more about this project and how you can make a positive impact. Thank you. File permission problem with File:Adelleda.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Adelleda.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Cloudbound (talk) 19:35, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
