Hey mate, thank you for your concern over the India national football team page. Anyway I remember when you talked to another user about this on Baichung's talk page earlier last year. Anyway the thing is the source you have given me is wrong, going by it then Baichung would only have scored in 3 friendlies even though that is not true. I remember he scored a lot more goals in his time. Also the stats I got for him were from the official All India Football Federation website which stated how many goals every player had (along with caps) and that is what I went with. Also for Ali the source you gave me has been inactive sense 2007. That is when that website went down. So as of this moment what is up there is true but I will look into it. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 18:51, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey mate, please dont archive this thread because obviously we have not reached a consensus on this. Anyway I will keep looking for a source but your source you have given me does not account for so many friendlies like for example the friendly against Pakistan in 2001 in which Baichung scored i believe. So for now keep his stats at where they are now and I will get back to you sooner than I was (school has backed me up so sorry about not replying sooner). Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 14:15, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
Ya no problem. Take your time. Banana Fingers (talk) 14:46, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Alright. I forgot about this. Never say take your time to me because I wont come back for 5 months. Anyway I have found this to prove his caps of 108 [1]. As for goals I found this [2] but there is more controversy. The 2nd source says he has 107 caps while the 1st source says 108. So again we are at confusion.--Arsenalkid700 (talk) 11:55, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Those are just figures, who knows what their sources were therefore it doesn't show which matches he actually played in. The conflict here is his stats from 1995-2000 what you've listed is 25 goals in 56 apps. If you look at a list of India's 'A' matches from 95-99 from Bhutia's debut, here, plus only 4 matches India played in 2000, it only amounts to 47 games! That alone already quashes the notion that he supposedly made 56 appearances in this time frame. Any other possible appearances would have to be against clubs (can't give caps for that) and perhaps for India's Olympic team.
As for goals, you can just check all of India's matches from 95-00: [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8]. He only scored 12 goals! I don't know where the extra 13 goals would come from as far as full internationals are concerned. Again, him having 'only' 30 goals total is consistent with the source I showed you before [9] Having scored 35 goals in international matches, he still remains one of India's all-time top scorers, even ahead of celebrated names like Chuni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Inder Singh or Bhaichung Bhutia.
Away from Bhutia, national-football-teams.com is complete for India from 2001-present, except for one match in 2008 against Chinese Taipei. I know Sunil Chhetri played in that match and should have an extra cap listed for him as well as any other player who featured in that match. Banana Fingers (talk) 09:47, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
Well then I dont know. I do know his debut was against Thailand in 1995 and that was India's first match that year. We cant then go through the rest of the matches in those years as line-ups are not available. So caps I am lost at. Goals are simpler. So what international-football-teams are saying is that from 2001 to present Baichung had 18 goals (which I still find hard to believe) and from 1995-2000 he only scored 12 goals. So 30 goals in total. I might need to go deeper into this. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 10:47, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
Debuted against Thailand? That goes against what's already in the article which is based on the source given which says he debuted against Uzbekistan and scored. However, that source also says he was 19 when scored when in fact he was 18!
For caps, you're right, unless line-ups can be found its pretty much impossible to get an exact figure. However, based on available info, Bhutia did not take part in the 1999 SAF Games, Asian Cup qualifiers in November '99 and the 2000 Maldives Jubilee Cup. That's a total of 9 matches. Like I said, there were only 47 games from Bhutia's supposed debut against UZB in 1995 up to 2000, then you subtract the (at least) 9 games he did not take part in you would get only a maximum of 38 matches in this time frame. Quite far from the supposed 56 apps he made. I think it's safe to say now the he's not even a centurion!
As for goals, ya, only 30 in total. National-football-teams.com having only 18 goals from 2001 until his last match is also reflected in the source used in the article for his goals. Banana Fingers (talk) 16:05, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Okay. Lets be safe. I say that for now we blank the number of caps and goals he has on his page, we strip his name of the India national football team page and we take him off the List of footballers with 100 or more caps as it is now plainly obvious that, despite not knowing and having access to line-ups, he does not have 100 caps. I think in the end we will end up following what indianfootball.com says about his caps which to me personally is upsetting but we have to follow what reliable sources we have. As for goals, it seems like 30 it is. Almost makes me wonder why he is so well loved that much in India. I now think it is only because he has played abroad. If he did not play abroad then we would not be talking about Bhutia today. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 16:32, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Fair enough I guess. And speaking of safe, this has made me wonder about the accuracy of some of the other most capped and top scorers of India's national team. But oh well... Banana Fingers (talk) 17:08, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
For national-football-teams.com, for the most part only add full FIFA matches. For India in 2003, it seems they've added two matches from the Afro-Asian Games that aren't FIFA recognized (maybe they were FIFA recognized before). One of those is most likely against Zimbabwe where Bhutia scored twice and therefore is listed with two goals for that year. Also, if you check the years 2004, 2005 and 2008, there are missing match data (total of 4) and therefore would make caps & goals for some players inaccurate. One of those players is Bhutia as I've found evidence he's taken part in the matches that haven't been added yet in 2005 & 2008. Same thing for Sunil Chhetri for the year 2008, therefore he should have 61 caps by now. Banana Fingers (talk) 13:53, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Well then. This calls for another project. This shall be fun. But ya I agree. When I have time I will look at the India FIFA fixtures list and see which matches I can get a match report from. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 14:40, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Sir, why did you reverted back my edits when in fact, my edits made the article more organized. --Renzoy16 | Contact Me 18:13, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

It was already organized. In fact, your "organized" edits ended up removing legit info. Banana Fingers (talk) 19:04, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

Lam Hok Hei has 0 caps, his 3 caps and 1 goal came during the 2010 Long Teng Cup, which was competed by the U-23 team and NOT the national team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.79.208.167 (talk) 13:39, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Maya Hayes

Maya Hayes is a excellent soccer player currently competing for USA in Under-20 Women's World Cup, in Japan. Wikipedia deletion policy, does not cite the need of a living persion to be a professional in his or her area to be the subject of an article. All the information are sourced from highly reliable, FIFA.com, USSoccer.com, and Penn State University's gopsusports.com and the reference links are provided. I just started this article after watching the matches played in Japan, and more information will be added. Please feel free to expand the article. Maya Hayes has received significant coverage in the news media with her participation of FIFA U-20 women world cup. Therefore, she satisfies "General notability guideline", criterion for inclusion. Harvardton (talk) 06:12, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Cameroon

Just out of curiosity, what is your source(s) for the changes you made for this country for 2012 Nehru Cup squads. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 16:46, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Goal.com for the final roster and FECAFOOT for the proper names and their clubs. The only thing I don't know is the coach. It's definitely not their regular national team coach Denis Lavagne. Banana Fingers (talk) 16:51, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
Okay, fair enough. As for the coach, I put Denis there because of this. This source says Emmanuel Bosso (just found this source) so I would go with this. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 17:08, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Cameroon national team 2

Hey mate, I just want to know if you can tell me if User:Gnikodurf is right in his edits here (his edits on the right side). I keep asking him for a source (not on the coach but the player names and clubs) and he does not answer and I know you know information on the Cameroon team so I just want to finally know if he is right. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 00:21, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

As for the names, like I said, I got their final squad from Goal.com here and got more accurate names from the official preliminary roster released by the Cameroon FA (FECAFOOT) here. It also lists the clubs they play for so if anything, the clubs should not be changed. Also for the names, from FECAFOOT, some names are shortened, probably they are simply known as such, like Ashu Tambe. It seems that is the player's surname but is simply known as Ashu Tambe. Same goes for Talla Nembot instead of Eugene Talla Nembot. This is purely based on that list. For player's with full names listed like Vigny Mérimée Kologni Ngampiep, I think it should just simply be Vigny Kolony. It would be like naming Jack Wilshere's article to Jack Andrew Garry Wilshere, but obviously it should just be Jack Wilshere. For caps, only Jean Abouna has any senior caps (3) based from national-football-teams.com. Banana Fingers (talk) 07:33, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

baichung goals

as u said baichung as 30 goals and i did said that asian games goals are not included in those statistics....from 2002 new rule has been introduced: Age limit for the men teams is under-23, same as the age limit in football competitions in Olympic Games, while three overage players are allowed among each squad.

And baichung was part of the team in 2002 and 2006 team...so i think that matches r also counted in 107 caps....and baichung has scored 4 goals during 2002 asian games ...asian games 2002 and 2006 asian games though he didn't score in 2006 games and he didn't play against iran as he was shown card...and may be he took part in 1998 asian games also as that was took by part by full senior players...Preetam040 (talk) 20:15, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Bambang Pamungkas Caps

Hi there. First I'm sorry for my disruptive editing. I have double checked my sources and I found some mistakes. May be we both could check the related sources together. There are some differences on FIFA match report and AFC match report. As you can see from the AFC match report, I don't know why Bambang Pamungkas's name changed to ABDULFATTAH AL-HAMMADI. If you were Indonesian, I think you would know the player who always wear the number 20 shirt. As we know Bambang made a score on match against Iran on November 15, 2011 and here is the AFC match report. As you can see the one who made score is ABDULFATTAH AL-HAMMADI, so I'm very sure it is Bambang Pamungkas. We can check again on other related news sources such as goal.com report, goal.com indonesia, detiksport.com, antaranews.com, supersoccer.co.id, soccerway.com, tribunsport.com, etc. Well, after all I'm Indonesian and I watched that match with my own eyes and know very well that Bambang Pamungkas played on the field. I hope you can recheck the sources. I won't reverting the edits you made until you reply this message. Thanks for your attention... 111.95.153.219 (talk) 12:12, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Indian football caps and goals

Hey mate, first I would like to say that I agree with you. They should be deleted, I was going to do it but I forgot. Anyway I was wondering if you can help me, I really want to have at least the current players at correct stats (baring the Cameroon matches which dont count). If you can help then that would be great. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 19:12, 13 September 2012 (UTC)

Sure. Correct stats for current players as in the players that were called up for the Nehru Cup? Banana Fingers (talk) 07:52, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
The match against Chinese Taipei on 27 May 2008 which the data hasn't been added yet on national-football-teams.com, I've found a starting line-up with unknown subs. I then found two links about the match from the AIFF but I can't access the site due to incapsula. Maybe you might be able to access it and the links could have the complete line-up. [10], [11]. Banana Fingers (talk) 08:37, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
The AIFF website is down for some reason. No one can get on it. I think they are redesigning the website. Anyway I can find the subs nor the staring line-ups from google so whatever you have we shall use it. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 10:22, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
Oh. I thought only certain people could get in. lol. The starting line-up that I've found for that Chinese Taipei match is:
Subrata Pal, Mahesh Gawli, Surkumar Singh, Gourmangi Singh, Deepak Kumar Mondal, Bungo Singh, N.P. Pradeep, Renedy Singh, Climax Lawrence, Sunil Chhettri, Bhaichung Bhutia. (NP Pradeep scored both goals, 2-2 draw).
So these players should have an extra cap on top of what is already listed at national-football-teams.com. Also, the Qatar-India game from July 2011 is not a full FIFA match but it has been added at nft.com. Banana Fingers (talk) 11:07, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
Ya I think that is because it took a while before FIFA officially called it a Non-official match (I think a week later) and also like I said the Cameroon matches are not notable as well as FIFA does not count those. Anyway I shall go home today and edit the players using NFT + Chinese Tapai minus Qatar and Cameroon (2). --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 12:22, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
For the Cameroon matches, NFT never added them. Also, for 2005, NFT does not have the data for the SAFF Cup game against Bangladesh. So if there are any active players now who were part of India's squad for the SAFF Cup back then, they'll be missing an extra cap. Same thing for 2004, no data for a friendly against Indonesia.
