A tag has been placed on File:Boney James 2013.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Boney James[edit]

Please see our neutral point of view policy for why I had to revert your edits. -- John Reaves 21:54, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also, use the article's talk page in the future rather than simply reverting my changes. All claims must be sourced by reliable sources and adhere to the above mentioned neutral point of view policy. If you have any questions, please let me know. -- John Reaves 21:57, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
boney james
re neutral pov and your mass reversion of my edits.
i have adjusted a few edits. all facts.
Barneyjones (talk) 22:11, 20 December 2013 (UTC)
This edit need to be undone, The album has it's own article an does not need to be in the article. I will move the spouse to a better location on the page, I didn't realize she had an article. Also, something doesn't merit inclusion just because it is a "fact". Like I already said, please discuss any changes you wish to make to the article before making them as you are not familiar with our policies. Also, please sign your talk page comments with ~~~~. -- John Reaves 22:35, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

i've been editing this article without comment for many years (i am the subject.) are you 'in charge' of this article? no one has ever discussed edits on the talk page before. to your point re the album having it's own article and thus the grammy nom is not "needed" here. i believe it's completely pertinent to the boney james article that this album is nominated. (and have seen this type of entry on multiple musician pages.)

re the spouse now being in a "better location," that seems completely subjective to me, and the removal of the boney james feature film score info is incomprehensible. i would appreciate that reverting to the way i had it.

i think all the facts i had posted "merit inclusion".

Barneyjones (talk) 22:58, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As you are the subject, there is a considerable conflict of interest here, please read Wikipedia:COI#Writing about yourself and your work and Wikipedia:Autobiography. Nobody is "in charge" of the article. Articles are governed by several policies. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not to start with. Inclusion of information isn't based on what "you believe" it is based preexisting guidelines. Grammy nominations are notable, but they need to included in a way that conforms to our prose standards. -- John Reaves 23:51, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

i am familiar with the policies. fyi, i only started editing this page after a disturbed fan was messing with it posting erroneous and harmful info (which i alerted the wiki folks to and the page was restricted for many years.)

re today, removal of my recent edits is also only based on your interpretation of policy or "belief." do we really need to disagree about this? the below are dry statements of fact and are germane, interesting and useful to anyone researching boney james. what is non-conforming to prose standards here? i would appreciate them being allowed to stand.

"James' 2013 CD The Beat was nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Pop Instrumental Album Category.

Boney James is married to actress/director Lily Mariye ("Nurse Jarvik" on NBC's ER for 15 seasons). In 2012 he contributed the original score to her feature film directorial debut, Model Minority." Barneyjones (talk) 00:27, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You will be blocked if you continue to edit in violation of the policies and guidelines that I have already told you about. These policies are not subject to whims, they apply to all articles at all times. Frankly you should not be editing your own article as it is obvious that you cannot do so in the proper manner. -- John Reaves 05:45, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That would be an unjustified escalation. I refer you to the disputes page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution It appears to me that you are editing my edits in a cavalier fashion with no defensible rationale. Perhaps you could explain what was objectionable about my last post. This seems personal for you now. Can I not also try and have you blocked? Barneyjones (talk) 16:09, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As to my rationale for posting, the chart stats on the last album and the NYT quote are very much in keeping with entries I see all over wikipedia on other band/artist articles. The 3 million number belongs with the RIAA stat in my opinion. This seems like a minor issue. Barneyjones (talk) 16:22, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
