Maps of constituencies of the Northern Irish Parliament

Hi - I've finally created articles on all the constituencies of the Parliament of Northern Ireland. I know that you created maps for those which were written earlier, which I much appreciated. I wondered whether you would be able to create maps for the remainder? If this is too time-consuming, do you have blank maps of the constituencies and the close-up on Belfast which I could fill in? Many thanks, Warofdreams talk 14:13, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi sorry for not replying have been busy with work and college, and hopefully should have the maps made soon seeing as all the articles have been created :)--Barryob (Contribs) (Talk) 18:43, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

I have repeatedly asked you to come to the discussion page but you refused and choose to keep reverting at Template:Infobox German Bundesland. Since this is regarded edit warring at Wikipedia you have been reported at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. Lear 21 (talk) 01:07, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Hello there! It's a possibility, but, following a bit of a revamp to subdivisions of the United Kingdom, it was noted on the talk page that there were calls for the tables to stay at "countries of the UK". It's certainly useful, but (as I'm sure you're raising), for who? - editors or readers? I'd raise it on its talk page first so as to not to trigger World War III. --Jza84 |  Talk  01:30, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. The two articles have suffered somewhat from the usual entrenched camps, as well as from lack of users who have been through formal assessment for article writing, and so they each lacked some tact and focuss. I wonder if we could use the sources in that article a little more encyclopedically and eloquently? Again though, I'd test the water on the talk page first :S --Jza84 |  Talk  01:36, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

European Parliament Ireland constituencies 2009

Hi Barryob, For the 2009 European Parliament election in Ireland, the North-West constituency has gained the counties of Longford and Westmeath from the East constituency. This means new images are needed for the articles, when you have the time. The current ones that you created like [File:North-West (European Parliament constituency).svg] should ideally be renamed as 2004-2009 versions for historical purposes, and new ones created for the current boundaries, 1 with each constituency highlighted and 1 with all constituencies. Tx, Snappy (talk) 00:45, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

In your absence, I asked the nice people at the Image Workshop to create the new images. Regards, Snappy (talk) 06:49, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Elis-Thomas, Plaid Cymru

Hi, in your edits to Members of the 3rd National Assembly for Wales you've said that the Presiding Officer, Dafydd Elis-Thomas, took voluntary suspension from Plaid Cymru after being elected for a third term as Presiding Officer. However, I can't find any source for this and according to the Welsh Assembly website he is still a member of Plaid: name of party and Plaid logo prominent, "Rt Hon the Lord Elis-Thomas PC AM", seating plan with Elis-Thomas's seat coloured green as with rest of Plaid AMs. By the way, thanks for the work on the list because I've just translated it for the Welsh Wikipedia. :) --AdamSommerton (talk) 23:09, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

First of all...

…I launched no attack against you please point out were I am uncivil or don‘t make such comments your comment “Were did you dream that up“ is just rude, a civilised editor would not make such a comment. Second, I have not even been involved in that argument, I merely pointed out that GTSQ is the de facto national anthem of Scotland within the United kingdom. Perhaps I didn’t make that clear, but your general tone is hostile and confrontational no doubt filled with your nationalist agenda. Sooo Kawaii!!! ^__^ (talk) 22:04, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

I have actually just seen the error I made. I meant to say within the United Kingdom. Does that make it clear? --Sooo Kawaii!!! ^__^ (talk) 22:11, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
It was not rude or uncivil and I quote QTSQ is the de facto anthem of Scotland, I was honestly asking where you dreamt that up because it is completely false however you now admit you made a mistake, but at the same time again accuse me of having a nationalist agenda hmmm you should read the talk page again its quite easy to see those who have a nationalist agenda. --Barryob (Contribs) (Talk) 22:27, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
Your openly nationalist so i can't exactly accuse you. I wasn’t saying your editing was due to a nationalist agenda more you overall tone. (Or more to the point-Anti-Unionist-And guess what, so am I. BritishWatcher is more or less the only hardliner pro-unionist here). Perhaps rude is inappropriate to describe you, perhaps Fiery is more correct. You can tell as you make a lot of typos in your comments. A sign of someone who is writing with passion, I think eh?--Sooo Kawaii!!! ^__^ (talk) 22:41, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
So it was tone May I remind you to remain Civil in these discussions Barryob and to not let your nationalist agenda fuel your arguments. I asked you a simple and honest question of your factually incorrect statement, there was nothing even remotely nationalistic involved--Barryob (Contribs) (Talk) 22:57, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of country subdivisions. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of country subdivisions. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:12, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

non-rule-following revert

Your personal abusive approach on the SNP talk page is noted. Please do not revert arrogantly without discussion as if you own the wikipedia. Edit warring at Her Majesty's Government

Hi. You currently appear to be involved in an edit war at Her Majesty's Government. Rather than constantly reverting the other editor I would ask you to please discuss the issue and try to reach a consensus. If you are unable to reach agreement between yourselves you may wish to attempt some form of formal or informal dispute resolution. As you appear to be a long term editor I assume you are already aware that continued edit warring without discussion may result in a ban. Regards. Road Wizard (talk) 20:49, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi, would you be so kind as to give us support!

Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. I've just read your profile and saw that you're an enthusiastic Scotsman (I went to Edinburgh not that long ago and I really appreciated the people and the wonderful place! Beautiful and really nice!), so I guess that being Scottish helps you understand what are a minorized language and culture and maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm a member of a Catalan association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this hasn't been approved up to that moment. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT. Supporting us will be like giving equal opportunity to minorized languages and cultures in the future! Thanks again, wishing you a great summer, take care! Keep on preserving your great culture, country and language! Slán agat (sorry I don't know it in Scottish Gaelic!) You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 05:08, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Scottish Parliament constituencies

Thanks for the help on the 2011 Scottish Parliament constituencies, I think it's going to be a hard slog between now and May. Here's to an easy......ISH....ride :) doktorb wordsdeeds 12:34, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks :) I have been meaning to create the maps/articles for ages now but never found the time to do it, will update the relevant maps over the next few days, still unsure what to do with the situation where there is a slight change in name and boundary ie Dundee City East (Scottish Parliament constituency) and Edinburgh Northern and Leith do we create a new article???--Barryob (Contribs) (Talk) 12:48, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
What I have done in the meantime is to create re-directs (so click on Na H-Eleian thingy and you'll get to Western Isles). I /think/ the Dundee ones have been done, but don't quote me on that, it's been a while :) When candidates are selected and/or the campaign gets going proper, then the redirects can be de-hooked and built up; I just thought creating "Dundee City East" now in July 2010 for essentially "holding purposes" was not good practice. doktorb wordsdeeds 14:22, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Was thinking that would be best practice myself, will hammer into them over the next few weeks to get them all up to scratch before the election.--Barryob (Contribs) (Talk) 18:28, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading this media, It would be appreciated if you could add :

  • 1-2 paragraphs explaining what is shown in the image.
  • Sourcing for the dataset shown
  • Sourcing for the base map used.

A tag has been placed on File:Lothians 1999 (Scottish Parliament electoral region).svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
