How does the page used as a reference establish notability? It appears to be nothing more than a collection of tweets. Thatotherperson (talk/contribs) 22:07, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

SomethingAwful.com has long been known as an epicenter of internet culture and the SA Forums are the voice of that culture. Front page SA reports often precede MSM coverage of internet events and many writers on SA are published authors and experts in their field (the internet). It is my belief that this collection of tweets represents a research project by Jon "DocEvil" Titanium into the effects of crowdsourced internet flashmobs on fame and celebrity. The tweets serve as a timeline of events leading to the inevitable conclusion in which Steve Harwell eats 24 eggs cooked any style. It's like watching history in the making! Wikipedia, as a purveyor of current events, should carry this news like any other. Bart simpson rules (talk) 22:15, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, there's a separate site called Wikinews. Second of all, based on your usage of the phrase "It is my belief" I think you need to read this: WP:OR. Wikipedia is not in the business of being the first site to report news. It is a collection of information that has already been published in reputable publications. If someone can provide evidence of a newspaper or a big-time magazine reporting on this (someone claims Rolling Stone did), that would establish notability. A fansite or messageboard does not.

Contested deletion[edit]

Contested deletion[edit]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because... It's a User page. How can a user page be a candidate for speedy deletion? --Thatotherperson (talk/contribs) 22:51, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support, information wants to be free, etc Bart simpson rules (talk) 22:54, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Smash Mouth are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Sean Connery, you may be blocked from editing. Favonian (talk) 10:18, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you add an inappropriate image, as you did at File:BadwaterBasin800.png, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. causa sui (talk) 22:20, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Batman the dark knight rises my theory`s requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Στc. 20:41, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for vandalism. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
