An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is The Naked Man (How I Met Your Mother). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Naked Man (How I Met Your Mother). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:51, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers[edit]

Hi Bashum104,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for May 11[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Orange County NASL, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fullerton. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your contributed article, 1904 FC[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, 1904 FC. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – San Diego 1904 FC. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at San Diego 1904 FC. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:25, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

San Diego in team name or not?[edit]

We seem to have conflicting beliefs as to whether the team has the city name in it or not. Any source to support it doesn't have the name? Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:27, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Explicitly called "1904 FC" by the team on twitter: https://twitter.com/1904_FC/status/920662725725786117. Also the team's website, twitter handle, etc. reference exclusively 1904 FC. The only reference to San Diego is on the crest, though it is not unusual for clubs without a city in their name to include their location in their crest. October 2017[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on San Diego 1904 FC. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:58, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cut and paste moves[edit]

Please don't try to rename an article by cutting its contents out and pasting them into another article. Doing so loses the editing history, which must be kept to comply with Wikipedia's copyright licensing terms. The proper way to rename an article is to move the existing article, not to create a new one with the same content. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited National Premier Soccer League, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Grandview High School (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). UPSL clear[edit]

Wait, so what does Spring/Summer mean? Shouldn't it just be 2018 UPSL season then? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:35, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@ArsenalFan700: I wasn't sure what to call it, really. I know the current name is awkward. Basically the UPSL has two seasons, a Spring/Summer and a Fall/Winter. Sometimes these are just called Spring and Fall. The Spring season starts in March and wraps up in the middle of the year (not sure exactly when). The Fall season picks up again shortly and runs through late January/early February. But the seasons aren't connected in any way whatsoever. They have separate playoffs and crown separate champions. New teams join before each season and promotion/relegation takes place twice per year. There's really no reason to have one page covering two seasons. So, if we're going to split it into two pages, what do you call them? I changed it to 2018 Spring/Summer, because that was the most accurate name. The other one I guess would be 2018-19 Fall/Winter. It could also be simplified to 2018 Spring and 2018-19 Fall. Or we could simplify if further and just call it 2018 UPSL season and 2018-19 UPSL season, but that would be kind of confusing. @Sam Sailor:The Miami Wolves are part of the same organization as the LA Wolves. The LA Wolves are the original and more prominent club. OK, could you stick in a section about Miami Wolves in L.A. Wolves FC then? Now it is a WP:SURPRISE redirect, and the target tells the reader nothing about Miami Wolves. I will retarget Miami Wolves to United Premier Soccer League again. Also, in United Premier Soccer League you have made a lot of WP:SELFREDIRECTS . Please remove them. 2019 Spring UPSL season moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, 2019 Spring UPSL season, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. According to guidelines for this topic, a majority of the page should be prose. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. I've been meaning to get back to finalizing the standings for the Spring season and then jumping into the Fall. If you have the time now to get it started and do as much as you can I'll certainly be by to offer some significant help. Otherwise I'll create the page myself in short order.
@Bashum104: Cool, I will try my best to start it (I’m not the best at bigger projects). I’ll work on it in my sandbox then implement it on its own actually page. Thanks for your help.
